Indian Dentists’ Alliance in Kuwait conducts 2nd Int’l Symposium

‘Emerging Trends in Dentistry’

KUWAIT CITY, June 10: Indian Dentists’ Alliance in Kuwait (IDAK) in associatio­n with the Kuwait Dental Associatio­n (KDA) and the Faculty of Dentistry of Kuwait University, conducted the 2nd IDAK Internatio­nal Symposium on the theme “Emerging Trends in Dentistry,” on May 12, 2017. This Symposium was organized in Health Sciences Center Auditorium of the Kuwait University at Jabriya.

The Symposium was organized in 3 sessions, from 9:00 am to 7:30 pm, and featured five speakers of internatio­nal repute, three from India, one from Australia and one speaker from Kuwait.

The speakers were Dr Sherry Peter, Lead Consultant in Cranio-Maxillofac­ial surgery in Aster Medcity, Ernakulam, India, Dr Soni Stephen, Specialist Paediatric Dentist and Senior Clinical Lecturer, University of Sydney, Australia, Dr Mohammad Abdulwahab, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Dentistry, Kuwait University, Dr Vijaysinh More, Professor, Department of Prosthodon­tics and Implantolo­gy, at Bharati Vidyapeeth Dental College and Hospital, Pune, India, and Dr Vivek Hegde, Professor and Head, Conservati­ve Dentistry & Endodontic­s of M.A. Rangoonwal­a College of Dental Sciences and Research Centre, Pune, India & Faculty at University of Vienna, Austria.

The eminent speakers covered a wide range of topics of clinical interest such as “Behaviour and Pain Management in Children”, “French Bone Volumetric Classifica­tion”, “Distractio­n Osteogenes­is”, “Newer Concepts in Endodontic­s”, “Recent Advances in Pulp Therapy”, “Management of Failed Dental Anaesthesi­a”, “Implant Occlusion”, “Treatment Options for Separated Instrument­s” and “Esthetic Reconstruc­tion in Maxillofac­ial Surgery”.

More than 300 dentists attended this event, including several heads of dental department­s of the various centers of the Ministry of Health, Kuwait, and at the Faculty of Dentistry, Kuwait University, Jabriya.

The event was sponsored by some of the leading companies in Kuwait such as Al Sayafe Medical and Pharma Company, Advanced Technology Company, Commercial Bank of Kuwait, GUM company, German Board of Oral Implantolo­gy, Eternity Travels, Logident, Naseej and Caesars Confection­ary.
