Al-Qassem All Stars demolish Mangaf Strikers, reclaim top

Fiery Dragons move up in 2017 PBAK Independen­ce Bowling Cup

KUWAIT CITY, June 10: Al Qassem All Stars reclaimed its top spot after demolishin­g the less rated Mangaf team, 2952- 2657 while Nile River Strikers although it won the game against the equally favorite team Asian Air Safari, 2831-2758, slid to second place and Fiery Dragons got closer to the holder of the ‘Magic 6’ last seat in the penultimat­e game of the Philippine Bowling Associatio­n in Kuwait — 2017 Philippine Independen­ce Bowling Cup 10th eliminatio­n round held at the COZMO Bowling Centre in Kheifan. Other teams that registered victories were Original Pin Killers, Swooping Eagles and J3RC.

Al Qassem All Stars trampled on the Mangaf Strikers in its first two games 1040- 857, 988- 826 (2028- 1683) and slowed down in the third game and surprised when Mangaf boys outscored the team with the score of 949- 899. All Stars prolific scorers were Ibrahim Al Jadi (602), Abdulaziz Al Aslawi (588), Ali Jawli (576), Fadel Al Qassem (549) assisted by a Hanadi Mezaiel (331) and Hassan Al Qassem (134) while Mangaf 5-man team were Norlan Balasan (497), Jason Gamba (471), Neng Cervantes (467), Adolfo Prena (452) and Alex Cervantes (442). With the loss, Mangaf Strikers dropped from seventh to eight place.

With one win each in the first two games, Fiery Dragons outscored COZMO 1924- 1844 with 80 points advantage. In the final game the Dragons became more furious and controlled the tempo 984- 885 with Camilo Baker lll (614) at the helm followed by Eddie Pena (573), Joe Tizon (524), Mandy Manalo (430) and Maria Perly Virly (415) while COZMO team, the top scorer was Ronell Valencia (578) supported by Ruben Cervantes (531), Gani dela Cruz (523), Noe Mahayag, Lito Michael, Faisal Al Saleem and Abdul Wahab Ali. With the win the Fiery Dragons grabbed the seventh position closer to NUSANTARA holder of the last ticket to team finals.

Considered no bearing game, the match-up between Nile River Strikers and Asian Air Safari was worthy to consider. After the first two games NR Strikers won with just a point over Asian Air Safari 1871-1870. In the last game Nile River outscored the jetliner 936- 887 with final score of 2831- 2758 with Mostafa Dardara (553) as the top scorer supported by Ibrahim Al Busafi (461), Rani Skeik (398), Farid Gabril (373), Neveen Wasel (349), Habeeb Reda (302) and Rudy de Lima (147). Asian Safari high scorer was Saleh Khaled (593), assisted by Waleed Al Gharib (546), Nasser Hajras (533), Sonia Mathews (428 and Hermie Saliba (428). The collision between Swooping Eagles and Indian Bowling was also a non-bearing game as both were outside the elite group and no possibilit­y to join the top six.

NUSANTARA suffered another lose as considered crucial against Original Pin Killers 2724-2907 nearing to its downfall as cliffhange­r for the past two weeks. Original Pin Killers was safe, keeping the fourth place with the prolific triumvirat­e of Ali Arqoub (570), Ishaaq Al Waahid (557) and Rashid Aker Ali (545) assisted by Christophe­r Bush (481) and Ahmad Fadi Karam (466). The Indonesian team bowlers were Fahad Ragheeb (556), Ahnad Fahmi (520), Saleh Al Faraj (465), Benyamin Hasan (417), Abel Nitikusumo and Erlisa Gantosori. Finally at lane 11 nd 12 the tail enders J3RC and INC-K met where the former slammed the neophyte team 2803- 2213.

Meanwhile, in the team best, Nile River Strikers still hold the Team High Game and Team High Series. In the individual best, there were no changes in the holders of Individual High Game while in the Individual High Average — Mens; Class A, Aseel Al Roumi snatched from Fadel Al Qassem of All Star Strikers; Mens’Class B - Saleh Khaled of Asian Air Safari, Mens’ Class C - Ali Jawli of Al Qassem Strikers, Ladies Class A - Neveen Wasel of Nile River Strikers and Class B - Nadine Diaz of Indian Bowling League bested their previous records.
