MPW asked to inspect old houses for teachers
KUWAIT CITY, June 17: Education Ministry Undersecretary and Head of the Technical Committee tasked to study the formation of teams and panels in the ministry Dr Haitham Al-Athari has unveiled the plan to form a team which will develop the curricula, reports Al-Rai daily.
Al-Athari confirmed the curricula development project is part of the 2017/2018 development plan of the ministry. He said the Technical Committee has approved the formation of the team in accordance with the regulations of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) on the teamwork system in governmental bodies and their amendments — Decision No. 40/2016.
In another development, the daily quoted Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Installations and Planning Dr Khalid Al-Rashed as saying that the ministry has asked its public works counterpart to inspect old houses for teachers, including a building utilized by an undisclosed private school.
Al-Rashed added the Ministry of Public Works has also been requested to conduct engineering tests and submit a detailed technical report to pave way for the completion of necessary procedures.
In response to the request to inspect the building being used by a private school, Assistant Undersecretary for Tests, Quality Control and Research in the Ministry of Public Works Talal Al-Uzaina revealed the building is structurally weak and unsafe.
