PAAAFR starts receiving ‘applications’ from today
Bid to obtain farms
KUWAIT CITY, June 17: Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) announced its readiness to start receiving from Sunday, June 18 the applications of those who wish to obtain the farms that have been allotted by PAAAFR for livestock herding in Sulaibiya Agricultural Area, reports Al-Rai daily.
Deputy Director General of Animal Resources Sector at PAAAFR Zahra AlWazzan explained that the farms will be allocated to national companies with the financial capability to carry out projects aimed to increasing self-sufficiency for red meat and milk. This is in line with the state’s food security project.
She said, “The applicant must be a Kuwaiti company that specializes in raising cattle or cattle herding. The company’s capital should not be less than KD 1.5 million. It should not have had received any kind of farming plot from the authority”.
Al-Wazzan stipulated that the applicant must deposit an initial insurance of KD 100,000 with a certified check or a letter of guarantee issued by one of the local banks addressed to the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources.
The insurance must be valid until the completion of the draw. The insurance will be refunded to those who do not obtain a farm.”
