Gulfsat lauches Sudanese TV package SUNTSAT
Viewers to have opportunity to view bouquet channels on single frequency

SUDAN, June 19: Gulfsat Communications Company, (Gulfsat), the leading company specialized in providing communications and satellite TV broadcasting and re-broadcasting services, has announced the launching of the new Sudanese satellite bouquet “SUNTSAT” with an orbit adjacent to the NileSat Orbit with a 12688 frequency vertical and a coding rate of 27500, in realization of Gulfsat’s strategy of comprehensive expansion. This step enhances the policy of integrated spreading strategy in the MENA region and provides a unique concept to the satellite broadcasting market, with clear cut benefits for viewers who will have the opportunity to view the bouquet channels on one single frequency
The launching ceremony was attended by the Sudanese Minister of Information, Dr Ahmed Bilal, the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Sudan, HE Bassam Alqabandi, the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Gulfsat Communications Company, Mohammed Al-Haj, the President of the Arab League’s Union of Arab Producers, Ibrahim Abu Thikri, the Sudanese Private Channels Commissioner, Mohammed Omar, the Director of the Commercial and Sales Sector at Gulfsat Communications Company, Dr Riyadh Daghlas and a number of ministers, engineers and TV channels managers, in addition to a large number of representatives of media and press.
This step reflects Gulfsat’s ambitious plan to transmit TV broadcasting content by using state-of-the-art technologies with a view to facilitate operations for both operators and TV channels.
Commenting on the launching of the Sudanese modern broadcasting bouquet “SUNTSAT”, Gulfsat’s CEO, Mohammed Al-Haj, said: “The launching of the Sudanese broadcasting bouquet, which includes a rich variety of channels, fits well within Gulfsat Communications Company’s strategy that is based on the concept of unique bouquets where channels to have the same frequency. resonance of its own. He also feels the deep value of the name which reflects the value of the antique “SUNT” tree which resists the severe conditions of Sudanese climate and stands aloof, maintaining its presence against harsh and all environmental challenges.
After highlighting the longstanding good relations between Sudan and Kuwait, the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Sudan, HE Bassam Al-Qabandi, said “Sudan is a large country, rich in beautiful natural resources, cultural wealth and an artistic and cultural diversity. The media should highlight this beautiful image in a more effective way”.
On his side, the Sudanese Private Channels Commissioner, Mohammed Omar, expressed his thanks to the State of Kuwait for its continuous efforts to develop investment in Sudan and for its continuous support to Sudanese media over the years.
It is worth mentioning that Gulfsat will provide other means for increasing communication with the public, by first creating a website for “SUNTSAT” broadcasting bouquet for the purpose of enhancing the culture of smart viewing so that the viewer may access the website and browse the channel program schedule within the bouquet and access other information and details about programs and content, such as political, sports, health, children, varieties or other content, in order to know the broadcasting and re-broadcasting schedule. In this regard, an application for smart phones will be launched with a simplified and user friendly interface to enable the user to keep pace with news and programs updates for the various channels.
With regard to individuals who do not have access to the Internet, a TV channel guide will be printed for SUNTSAT bouquet containing all the foregoing details in order to facilitate things to the public and help them get to know their way among the channels of the Sudanese bouquet. This should indeed result in a large increase in viewing rates and a higher income for these channels, thereby enabling them to develop their production and broadcasting techniques and keep pace with the latest global standards of HD broadcasting.
