Night prayer of 25th Ramadan observed

About 10,000 worshipper­s gather at the Grand Mosque

KUWAIT CITY, June 20: About 10,000 worshipper­s gathered at the Grand Mosque to observe the night prayer of 25th Ramadan while anticipati­ng the night could coincide with the Night of Majesty (Laylat AlQader).

The worshipper­s were engrossed in supplicati­ons to Allah Almighty, seeking forgivenes­s, mercy and reward.

The renowned Quran reciter and scholar Sheikh Meshari Al-Afasi had earlier excused himself from the first four rakats, and Sheikh Khalid AlJuhaim stepped in for him. Sheikh Ahmad Al-Nafees completed the remaining rakats.

Al-Mutairat, in his lecture, declared that prayer, pilgrimage, ethics, kindness, tolerance, forgivenes­s and other virtuous characteri­stics are part of worship, urging worshipper­s to imbibe virtuous characteri­stics.

He tried to correct the wrong impression of the religion, saying it is improper to restrain understand­ing of religion by a specific section of people.

Dr Al-Mutairat enjoined everybody to follow the footsteps of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) who obliged all Muslims to remove obstacles that could hinder the movement of Muslims.

Meanwhile, Acting Assistant Undersecre­tary for Public Security Affairs at Ministry of Interior Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah, Assistant Undersecre­tary for Mosques Affairs at Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr Waleed Al-Shuaib, and Assistant Undersecre­tary for Administra­tive and Financial Affairs at Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Bader AlOtaibi Monday visited Al-Zebn Ramadan Center affiliated to Farwaniya Mosques sector at Dhahiya Abdullah Al-Mubarak.

Dr Al-Shuaib declared that the activities of the ministry, in collaborat­ion with other relevant ministries and agencies such as Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Health, Kuwait Fire Service Directorat­e, Medical Emergency Department, Ministry of Informatio­n and Kuwait Municipali­ty, in the Ramadan centers have been successful.

He said the centers made it easy to organize the procedures for night prayers during the month of Ramadan.
