Kuwait distributes over 2,000 food parcels to needy in Sanaa
KRCS doles food supplies in Mosul
Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) distributed Tuesday 45 tons of food supplies
to displaced Irqis in Mosul.
RIYADH, June 20, (KUNA): The “Kuwait Besides You” humanitarian aid campaign has doled out 2,015 food baskets in Yemen. In a press statement issued Monday, member of the KuwaitiYemeni Relief Agency Tawfiq Hussein said that the baskets were distributed to needy people in Sanaa and Amanat Al-Asimah governorates. He added that this is the second batch of food aid to the two governorates, noting the first one included dispersing of over 5,500 food baskets.
He pointed out that Kuwait has also executed a number of projects for providing drinking water to several areas in Yemen. Kuwait has also sent medical supplies and vaccines to the cities hit by the outbreak of cholera.
For her part, the public relations official at Yemeni Al-Aman Society for caring for blind women Hanaa Al-Ghazali expressed gratitude to Kuwait for its support to Yemeni people.
KRCS distributed Tuesday 45 tons of food supplies to displaced Iraqis in Mosul, said an official. KRCS coordinator, Mohammad Al-Enizi told KUNA that delivering food supplies would continue in the region to enable displaced Iraqis to overcome their dire situation.
He affirmed that the KRCS was keen on helping the displaced Iraqis who have fled military operations carried out by the Iraqi forces and allies against the socalled Islamic State (IS) in Mosul since late 2016. The KRCS began recently a weeklong aid campaign targeting around 40,000 displaced people in Mosul.
