KUWAIT CITY, June 22: “Ministers and MPs are on board a ship with one purpose — to reach the shore safely to serve the interests of the nation and its people,” says Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and State Minister for Municipality Affairs Mohammed Al-Jabri.

He affirmed the ministry listens to all opinions and then look into their relevance, so it decided to postpone approval of the list of mobile and trailer vehicles for further study and discussion. He explained that further study on parliamentary proposals in this regard aims to ensure that young people become productive in line with the vision of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad AlJaber Al-Sabah on supporting small enterprises.

He pointed out there is no disagreement over the need for regulations to include stipulations that will encourage young people to be involved in small enterprises and contribute to development of the national economy, taking into account the fact that large companies should not overpower them. He said the ministry will endorse proposals which support the youths.

Meanwhile, MP Hamad Al-Harashani has called on members of the National Assembly to abide by His Highness the Amir’s speech on the occasion of the last 10 days of Ramadan, which served as a road map for both the Assembly and the Cabinet to realize the aspirations of citizens.

“We have to follow the directives of His Highness regarding local and regional conditions because he is the leader of humanitarian work which the whole world emulates in resolving regional and international issues. We have to help him, learn from him and follow his approach,” he added.

He also stressed the need to be aware of any looming danger considering the tension in the whole world, especially in the region. He said everyone must avoid old tactics, escalation and mockery which harm the country and its people.

He called on everyone to emulate those who protected the country during days of hunger, thirst, war and water scarcity. “We should open a new page and focus on the development and stability of our country,” he concluded.
