1,800 vacancies open
KUWAIT CITY, June 22: Under the sponsorship of Minister of Commerce and Industry and State Minister for Youth Affairs Khaled Al-Roudhan, the College of Engineering and Petroleum at Kuwait University will organize the 32nd Engineering Design Exhibition.
The Dean of the college Prof Abdulatif Al-Khulaifi, vice-deans, head of scientific departments, many academics and researchers as well as representatives of public and private sector companies that are specialized in engineering fields will attend the exhibition.
Director of Engineering Training and Alumni Center in the college Dr Bader Al-Busairi said the exhibition is organized by the center with support from Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS).
Secretary General of the Government and Manpower Restructuring Program (GMRP) Fawzi Al-Majdali disclosed that over 350 Kuwaiti job applicants have applied for employment at cooperative societies, and roughly 1,800 vacancies are open to be filled, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Al-Majdali announced the door of registration is still open for job seekers who wish to fill the available vacancies. He said retired Kuwaitis with experience are permitted to apply for jobs at the sector but such applicants will be entitled to salaries only, excluding manpower support.
He explained employment opportunities in cooperative societies are made available to the national personnel as part of ‘Kuwaitization policy’. He reiterated GMRP will encourage job seekers among Kuwaitis to increase the rate of Kuwaitis in private sector and reduce the number of expatriate workers there.
He stressed the project is being executed in collaboration with Ministry of Social and Labor Affairs, Kuwait Federation of Trade Unions, and the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training. He noted registration for jobs can be done via official website of GMRP or hotline 103 to make an appointment for a visit.
