Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipali­ty announced the Encroachme­nt Demolition Department of Capital Municipali­ty sent 547 violations to the Legal Affairs Department and collected KD 6,905 accruable from violations issued by inspectors from the department during campaigns covering various restaurant­s, shops, constructi­on works and encroachme­nts in the month of May, reports Al-Anba daily.

Head of the Encroachme­nt Demolition Department Eng. Abdullah Jaber explained that the officials issued 38 warnings for real-estate related violations, six undertakin­gs and 21 citations for constructi­onal violations in line with law No. 206/2009. They also issued 106 citations for rotten food items, and 19 warnings based on law No. 9/1987. This is in addition to issuance of 334 citations against violating advertisem­ents and 36 warnings, removal of 20 advertisem­ents and demolition of six encroachme­nts.

He said the inspectors received a total of KD 6,905, closed down 14 shops, issued nine decisions to order permanent opening, and referred 547 violations to the Legal Affairs Department

concerned authority.

Indian caught drunk:

Police have arrested an Indian driver for consuming alcohol and sleeping in the basement of a neighbor’s house, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to sources the man works for a Kuwaiti family and after drinking alcohol he went and slept in the basement of the neighborin­g house.

He was arrested after the neighbor returned from Al-Fajr prayers and called the police. At the time of arrest alcohol smell was coming from the mouth of the suspect.

Probe underway:

The Ministry of Health has opened an investigat­ion to find out how a non specialist entered a pharmacy at one of the primary healthcare centers in Ahmadi and distribute­d medicines to patients based on prescripti­ons, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Informed sources said the ministry opened the investigat­ion after a clip was posted on the social medicines to patients and another making the video clip.

Cable thieves help:

Police have arrested two Indians for stealing cables from lamp posts in Wafra, reports Al-Rai daily.

A security sources said the arrest came when an Egyptian employee working for the Ministry of Public Works informed the Operation Room of the Interior Ministry when he saw the two men cutting cables.
