The competition was held for KIB staff and their children, as well as the children of KIB customers, and took place during the Holy Month of Ramadan. The awards ceremony was held under the patronage and in the presence of Chairman of KIB, Sheikh Mohammed Jarrah Al-Sabah, and Acting Chief Executive Officer & Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Mohamed Said El Saka.

On this occasion, Nawaf Najia, Manager of the Corporate Communications Unit at KIB, commented: “This year’s competition was held at our head office, under the theme ‘the best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it’, and witnessed an exceptional turnout compared to previous years. During the competition, participants showed remarkable skill while demonstrating their ability to memorize and recite the Holy Quran. At the end, only those who were able to properly recite the Quran made it to the finals for a chance to win a number of valuable prizes, amounting to KD 6,000.”

Furthermore, Najia noted that KIB continues to play a leading role in fostering the traditions of the Holy Quran, as well as strong religious values and principles within the local community. Stemming from its belief in the importance of this role within the community, the Bank seeks to encourage the younger generations to uphold the traditions of proper Quran memorization and recitation, thereby supporting them to fulfill their duty towards their religion, community, and nation.

At the end of the ceremony, Najia congratulated the winners of the annual Ramadan competition. He further lauded the importance of the Holy Quran in strengthening ties and religious values within the community, noting that it remains one of the most important blessings bestowed on people.
