Media panel chief ‘commends’ success of Ramadan tournament

Addition of new teams eyed

KUWAIT CITY, June 24: Chairman of the Media Committee of Salwa Al-Sabah Ramadan Tournament Khalid Al-Juraid commended the high standard of competitio­ns during the 12th edition of the tournament.

Al-Juraid declared that all teams displayed high-level technical standard during the matches because “all of them were keen about lifting the trophy that bears a name that is very precious to our hearts”.

He appreciate­d the concerted efforts of the Higher Organizing Committee chaired by Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Waleed Al-Bahar and Supervisor General Colonel Khalid Aba Al-Khayl.

Al-Juraid also expressed gratitude and appreciati­on for the kind sponsorshi­p of the tournament. He thanked the Undersecre­tary of Ministry of Interior Lieutenant General Mahmoud Al-Dousari for close following up the tournament activities to ensure everything went well without any hitch as well as for attending the final match and crowning the winners.

He commended all the audio, audiovisua­l and print media outfits for their coverage of the tournament from beginning till the end, especially KTV Sports channel.

Al-Juraid said the organizing committee is looking for further accomplish­ments in the next edition, indicating that the preparatio­ns for the next edition will start within the next few months.

He stated that a series of meetings will be held to consider addition of new teams to enlarge the scope of competitio­ns as a way of boosting interest of people in the tournament.

Young and old volunteers recently repackaged thousands of clothes of various sizes and types which were donated by people from all parts of Lebanon as well as those piled on the shelves in front of a shop (Eid Clothes) in Burj Abi Haider Area of Beirut.
