About 16,000 citizens to enter labor market in 2018: study

PAAAFR accepts applications of 65 firms for cattle farms in Kabad

KUWAIT CITY, June 24: A study conducted by the Systems Development Department at the Civil Service Commission (CSC) revealed that about 16,000 citizens will enter the labor market in 2018 compared to 15,000 this year, reports Al-Anba daily.

The study added 29,000 citizens are expected to enter the labor market in 2030.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Higher Education, represented by the Cultural Office in Cairo, has announced that 200 Kuwaiti students will be admitted to every Egyptian university, reports AlQabas daily.

In a press statement, the Cultural Offce explained this step was taken based on the ministry’s plan to benefit from the experiences and potentials of Egyptian universities where many Kuwaitis graduated.

The correspondents at the Ministry of Education did not receive their salaries before Eid Al-Fitr, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources.

Sources disclosed the correspondents waited until Thursday for their salaries to be deposited into their bank accounts but it turned out that they waited in vain.

Sources said Director of General Services Department Fahad AlHayyan expressed his resentment as he tried so hard to solve the problem for two days. He asked the concerned company to pay the salaries of the correspondents before the holiday like the other employees, but his request fell on deaf ears. He also urged the ministry officials to disburse salaries in cash, because the banks were already closed and will open only after the holiday, sources added.

In the meantime, the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) has accepted the applications of 65 companies that applied for cattle farms in Kabad, reports Al-Rai daily.

Speaking to the daily, Director General of the authority Eng Faisal Al-Hasawi disclosed the Rehabilitation Committee will review the applications and then set the date for the draw lots to distribute 12 farms of various sizes.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry received several complaints filed by citizens who were cheated into buying bogus tour packages and flight tickets offered by some travel agencies, reports Al-Shahid daily quoitn sources.

Sources confirmed the ministry has formed teams tasked to inspect travel agencies which offer summer holiday packages to look into the alleged scam and hold responsible all those proven to be involved in such unscrupulous acts.
