MoI touts ‘foolproof’ security in Ramadan

Dousari heaps praise on forces

KUWAIT CITY, June 27, (Agencies): A security plan put in place during the holy month of Ramadan was a resounding success, the Interior Ministry’s (MoI) Undersecre­tary General Mahmoud Al-Dousari said on Monday.

The meticulous plan was implemente­d to perfection, a statement issued by the MoI quoted Al-Dousari as saying.

He also heaped praise on security forces for their efforts to protect the nation from all ills, congratula­ting the entire MoI staff on the Eid Al-Fitr holidays.

According to reliable sources, the government of Kuwait has taken this decision to ‘avoid political embarrassm­ent’ particular­ly at diplomatic level.

The General Traffic Department during security campaigns have arrested 11 juveniles for driving without license and referred them to the Juvenile Prosecutio­n, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily added, an unidentifi­ed expatriate has also been arrested for the same cause and referred to the Deportatio­n Center.

This is in addition to 45 people who have been detained at the police stations for committing grave traffic violations.

Police also issued 27,000 traffic violations and impounded 224 vehicles for various reasons.

A Syrian blacksmith has filed a complaint with the Nugra Police Station accusing an unidentifi­ed person of breaking into his parked car and stealing his toolkit, reports Al-Rai daily.

Police are looking for the thief. Undersecre­tary of the National Guard Lieutenant General Hashim Al-Rifai visited the National Guard’s forces in charge of securing vital and strategic installati­ons of the country. He conveyed to them Eid Al-Fitr greetings from the Head of the National Guard His Highness Sheikh Salem Al-Ali AlSabah,

and his deputy Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. In his statement, Lieutenant General Al-Rifai expressed appreciati­on and gratitude towards the leadership of the National Guard as well as the role played by its personnel in maintainin­g the security and stability of the country.
