Man loses case seeking money from touristic firm

KUWAIT CITY, June 27: The Commercial Circuit of the Court of First Instance dismissed a lawsuit filed by a citizen against a touristic company in demand for the latter to pay KD 23,000.
According to the case file, the company owed the complainant, by virtue of a bond and contract agreement, an amount to the tune of KD 40,000 that should be paid in favor of a third party. The company refused to honor the debt, which obliged him to file the civil commercial case.
The court obliged the company to pay KD 23,000 but the company appealed the verdict whereby the verdict was cancelled.
The complainant appealed but his appeal was dismissed as well.
Lawyer Khawla Mubarak AlHassawi, representing the company, called for dropping of the lawsuit, stressing on the invalidation of the contract agreement between the complainant and the company.
She affirmed it was not legal to review a case that was already ruled upon.

Losses top KD 5 mln:
The Credit and Savings Bank building which went up in flames a few days back may cost the owners more than KD five million in losses according to a senior Kuwait Fire Services Directorate (KFSD) source, reports Al-Anba daily.
The daily added, the high temperatures generated by the fire can affect the very structure of the building.
In the meantime, the fire sources said the fire authorities could have relied on the CCTV footage to determine if it was a case or arson or not but could not do so because the cameras were not installed due to security considerations.
However, the State Security and the Criminal Evidence Department (CED) of the Ministry of Interior will conduct investigations why the flames spread to the entire structure within a short period of time.
Traffic brawl:
A case of damaging two police vehicles and assaulting policemen have been registered against a citizen, reports Al-Anba daily.
A police source said a complaint to this effect has been filed with the AlZahra Police Station.
This happened when the Kuwaiti violated the traffic law and when he was told to pull over, he collided with a police vehicle and when another police patrol showed up, he collided with the second vehicle also.
The Kuwaiti claimed he was assaulted by the police and filed a complaint in this regard and police also filed a similar report.
Thefts reported:
An Egyptian representative of medical supplies company has filed a complaint with the Salmiya Police Station accusing an unidentified person of breaking into his car and stealing his laptop computer, medical devices, and spare tire, reports Al-Anba daily.
In another, unrelated incident, the daily said, police are looking for an unidentified burglar who broke into the home of a Kuwaiti in Sa’ad Al-Abdullah and escaped with a gold necklace worth KD 855, KD 30 cash and accessories worth KD 60.
