PAAET ‘stops’ receiving online applications after 14,955 apply
5,167 applicants to miss out
KUWAIT CITY, June 28: In continuation of the vicious circle that has no end, and as an extension of the annual series of admission failure faced by applicants when enrolling at the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET), 5,167 applicants will not find a place in the faculties and institutes of PAAET in the next academic year even though their applications were accepted through the website, reports Aljarida daily.
Dean of Admission and Registration at PAAET Dr Rabah Al-Najada announced that the authority has stopped receiving online applications after 14,955 students had applied.
She affirmed that PAAET is committed to accommodate only 9,788 students in the first semester as determined by the Higher Committee for Admission, adding that it will not exceed the commitment to the allocated budget.
Dr Al-Najada said the categories of admission would not be moved to the second semester because this approach was not raised at the meeting of the Higher Committee for Admission.
She revealed that there are number of applicants who will not meet the admission requirements after their files are sorted and reviewed.
Concerning the fear of many of not getting classes after admission, Dr Al-Najada explained that the deanship coordinated with the scientific departments of various colleges concerning the numbers to be received in the next academic year. The schedules of new students have been fixed and readied by the departments.
