NLB prevail over D’Islanders to move into top 6

K2E2, Siete Pares 1 and Dyn Aviation outclass rivals

KUWAIT CITY, June 28: Seven weeks into the on-going eliminatio­n round of the 2017 Season 11 FTBK Tenpin Bowling Team Tournament, the six berths to the championsh­ip round continue to be up for grabs among the 13 participat­ing teams. Although the spicy pin busters of IBL Team 1 and 2 were able to keep their strangleho­ld of the top two positions in the standings, the rest of the equally capable contenders remained focus on their goal of advancing to the next stage of this event organized by the Filipino Tenpin Bowlers Kuwait (FTBK) being held every Friday at the Cozmo Bowling Center in Salmiya.

Down by only 2 marks 1626-1607, the NLB Corporatio­n crew regained the lead by hammering out a 794-749 win in game three and then went on to clinch the match through an 802-760 decision in the final game. Bowling in NLB’s 3228-3135 total pin falls victory were Nelson De Leon, Rudy Zablan, Ric Marimla, Sarel Pascual and Philip Marimla.

Going to lanes 13 and 14, the K2E2 Thunders and World Class keglers will be both trying to put an end to the woeful pin busting that has been hounding them for the past couple of weeks.

Looking more like the defending champion they are, the Thunders came out roaring in game one where they grounded World Class with an 842-734 beating. With their rivals still in disarray, K2E2 spearheade­d by Edwin Latoja, Lee Mills, Melvin Caubang, Jess Farne and Bernabe Alfaro built up an insurmount­able lead after clinching the next two games 840-673 and 803-752.

With their backs against the wall and the prospect of being swept away four games to none, Bill Stiles, carol Awadi, Paul Wilson and Ted Ashley came to the rescue to give World Class an 822-701 win in the final game. Final tally of the match that went to the K2E2 Thunders was 3211-2981. with an 816-741 decision and then finally gained control of the match by thumping Cozmo in game three 857707. Led by JR Sabado, Rolly David, Jowie Concepcion, Sam Snipes and Ronald Ferolino, Dyn Aviation closed out their outing with a 741-694 victory in game four.

In the remaining matches of the week, Strikers X spearheade­d by Vicky Navarro, Norman Conde, Jheng Liwayway, John Caldwell, Benny Chan and Fredy Marzo remained well placed in third after posting a 31292971 win over the DMDA Bowleros while Siete Pares 2 headed by Siddharth Nair, Lito Igot, Dorcas Sansone, Alex Nodalo and JR Angeles clobbered IBL Team 1 the tournament pace setter 3120-2987.

Rock N Bowl who bowled alone on lanes 9 and 10 carded a total score of 3186 pin falls.
