KUWAIT CITY, July 27: The Parliament intends to finalize a number of pending issues and important bills in the next legislative round; including the establishment of new universities, pension and end-of-service benefits especially the Military Pension Draft Law that the government returned to the legislature,” says MP Ouda Al-Ruwaie.

He hopes the Human Resources Committee will work towards completion of the strategic alternative to the salary scale as the State spent a considerable amount for this purpose but nothing has been finalized till date.

He revealed one of the important issues is the naturalization bill which clearly stipulates the number of persons who will be naturalized annually, indicating he expected the government to issue an emergency decree on the number of people who will be granted citizenship every year but such step has not been taken until now.

He also stressed the need to prioritize the proposed amendment of the Handicapped Law in the next legislative round.

He said the performance of the Parliament in the last round was normal and expected. He pointed out that at the beginning of every legislative round, it is common to witness differences over priorities
