NBK develops summer internship program

Bank partners with LoYAC to train youth

KUWAIT CITY, July 27: National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) in collaborat­ion with LoYAC are offering social educative training programs for youth participat­ing in NBK’s annual summer internship program. These programs aim at developing knowledge and responsibi­lity towards society.

This new collaborat­ion aims at enhancing the Summer Internship Program with new challenges and is part of the ongoing partnershi­p between NBK and LoYAC. The new training sessions will include an introducti­on to the civil society sector, highlighti­ng Civic Engagement and how values influence behavior.

Yaqoub Al Baqer, NBK Public Relations Officer, said: “The participat­ion of LoYAC in this program is an added value for the students this year.

They will have the chance to experience the value of volunteeri­ng and the importance of social work.”.

Al Baqer added: “NBK’s relationsh­ip with LoYAC extends for years. We are happy to have this long standing partnershi­p with LoYAC”.

The Summer Internship first two sessions started on the 2nd and 16th of July, while the following sessions start on 30th of July and 13th of August respective­ly.

educative initiative­s and is a part of its corporate social responsibi­lity. The two-week courses in this program are specially designed for high school and college students, between 15 and 20 years old.

The Program features a mixture of theoretica­l and practical training. It is dedicated to providing the interns with invaluable knowledge on a variety of subjects such as: the teamwork, creative thinking, means of self-expression and modern banking, in addition to helping them to have greater exposure to daily banking work procedures.

The participat­ion of LoYAC in this program extends to include activities and volunteeri­ng initiative­s. Trainees will have the chance to participat­e in LoYAC’s park renovation project.
