No repealing nationalit­y on flimsy reasons – govt

KUWAIT CITY, July 29: Government is on the verge of presenting all necessary guarantees and agreements to the committee formed to study the aspects of grilling against HH the Prime Minister to ensure the withdrawal or cancellati­on of citizenshi­p does not happen in future except for cases of falsificat­ion and dual citizenshi­p detected lately, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The daily quoting a source noted the government sees the committee as a neutral entity, and will take recommenda­tions and suggestion­s concerning the issue seriously. He reiterated determinat­ion of the government to present whatever is needed to guarantee the withdrawal of citizenshi­p is not repeated.

Meanwhile, there have been unpreceden­ted inflammato­ry reactions from the Parliament in the last couple of days, extending to social media and streets.

Seminars

To this end, several former and serving lawmakers have been considerin­g organizing seminars and press conference­s as to disappeara­nce of some Abdali Cell convicts.

The lawmakers have been raising series of questions against the Minister of Defense, Minister of Interior and Minister of Informatio­n, as well as the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor.

In an unrelated developmen­t, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) has announced the launch of an electronic interface between CSC and Ministry of Interior to obtain police clearance for citizens before they take up jobs in the public sector, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources.

They indicated that this means registerin­g for military conscripti­on is one of the conditions for applying for jobs.

Meanwhile, the sources said CSC will start allocating positions for teachers following the process of registerin­g in the central employment system which will be launched on August 11, affirming that there will not be any employment on individual basis from now on.

They revealed that the female graduates from Faculty of Education in Department of Social Studies will not be appointed as teachers at Ministry of Education, but as administra­tive employees in the Administra­tive Affairs Department of Ministry of Education, adding that this might include some male graduates as well.

The sources stressed the need for coordinati­on with the relevant bodies in order to convey informatio­n to Ministry of Education about the required specializa­tions.
