1 dead, 2 hurt in accidents

KUWAIT CITY, July 29: A Kuwaiti citizen died when his vehicle slammed into a lamppost on Sulaibikha­t Road.

When the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received informatio­n about the accident, securityme­n, paramedics and firefighte­rs rushed to the location and pulled out the victim who was trapped inside the vehicle. They rushed him to the nearest hospital but he succumbed to serious injuries before arrival.

His corpse was referred to the Forensics Department and a case was registered.

Meanwhile, two Kuwaiti citizens sustained serious injuries when two vehicles collided on Sixth Ring Road opposite Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area.

According to security sources, securityme­n, paramedics and firefighte­rs rushed to the location after receiving informatio­n about the accident. The victims were pulled out from their wrecked vehicles and referred to the nearest hospital for treatment. Woman molested: A person wearing the national clothes is said to have assaulted a Sri Lankan woman while she was walking in Fahaheel area.

The woman accompanie­d by her sponsor lodged a complaint with officers at the Fahaheel police station and narrated a person wearing ‘disdasha’ grabbed her by the hand and touched her private parts. The man is said to have fled after the Sri Lankan woman shouted for help. A case was registered.

Thieves nabbed: Jahra securityme­n arested two Bedouns and a GCC national in connection with theft. The Bedouns who specialize­d in stealing sheep from livestock pens sold the plunder to the GCC national.

A security source said the suspects were apprehende­d following an intensifie­d campaign launched at livestock pens based on several complaints the Jahra Security Directorat­e received from the owners of livestock pens regarding missing sheep, and investigat­ion led to the two suspects who named the Arab national as their accomplice, saying they usually sold the loot to him.
