Best two Korean dishes to try in Kuwait

Kimchi & Galbi for unique cuisine seekers

- By Mohamad Jawhar

It was predicted to become one of the food trends of 2017 Welcome to the article of rounding-up the very best restaurant in Kuwait for Korean cuisine with its positive health effects of vegan based foods, we’re not talking authenticity here rather the kind of new food we really love to try while we rate good value highly, and worth saving up for.

Arirang is one of the few Korean restaurants in Kuwait that stands unique from its neighbors located in Mezzanine floor at Inn & Go Kuwait plaza hotel in Kuwait City. It’s a 3-star hotel that was refurbished a while back but the building still looks same from the outside since its establishment in early 80’s close to Al Muthana complex. The interior of Arirang on the other hand is just beautiful, one of those places where once you enter you feel like you’re no longer in Kuwait. I actually had the same feeling when I first visited the Arang Korean restaurant in London. Let’s begin with the best two dishes to introduce:

Kimchi

What it is: Fermented cabbage with chili flakes, garlic, ginger, and fish sauce

What’s the deal: “Cabbage is the most common ingredient in kimchi, but there are over 200 different types. You’ll find different varieties of cabbages and radishes, cucumber, green onion, eggplant, and bean sprouts. Kimchi’s popularity is growing due to its health benefits, as it contains probiotics (healthy bacteria), and it helps strengthen your immune system.”

Galbi

What it is: Korean BBQ What’s the deal: “Marinated beef ribs or chicken is grilled on an open fire or griddle over your table. Beef is marinated with soy sauce, and the chicken is prepared with chili paste that can be quite hot.”

The place is definitely worth trying out but mostly for the experience of trying something new. If you’re interested in passing by they’re open from 11 am to 11 pm at INN&GO Kuwait plaza hotel Mezzanin floor their phone number 22436686
