MoE moving on two parallel lines concerning attendance
Teaching job registration to end this week
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 26: Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Mohammed Al-Fares says the ministry is moving on two parallel lines concerning the fingerprint attendance systems in schools, reports Al-Rai daily.
He explained that a memorandum submitted by the Kuwait Teachers Society, which includes the effects of implementing the decision on school departments, is being studied. Another aspect to consider is addressing Ministry of Finance to increase the budget by KD 800,000 for buying the fingerprint attendance devices.
The minister indicated that a decision will be taken on Sunday.
Meanwhile, fresh Kuwaiti male and female graduates from the College of Basic Education at Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) and their counterparts from the College of Education at Kuwait University will be appointed after Eid AlAdha holiday, reports Al-Anba daily.
The daily quoting a source said registration for teaching job will conclude on Friday to be followed by other procedures such as conducting interview for candidates who have been given appointments and receiving requested specialties from concerned ministries and agencies.
He noted the list of names of new teachers from both institutions will be announced thereafter, affirming no priority will be given to any particular specialty over another in terms of job offered.
He explained the appointment of teachers either at beginning of the first or second semester depends on the decision of Ministry of Education rather than Civil Service Commission. He was not sure if any of the candidates will be appointed by August 27 or 28, because the registration of teachers is centralized.
