Deiva Sekkizhar Peravai marks 7th anniversar­y

Cake cutting ceremony by Poet Kalipulla. “Deiva Sekkizhar Peravai” (DSP — a literary Forum) celebrated its seventh anniversar­y fuction along with 71st Indian Independen­ce Day with a lot of enthusiam at its founder Kavisae Sekar residence in Mangaf on Aug 15.

The function was inaugurate­d by lighting the traditiona­l lamp by Mrs Padmapriya Ayyappan and Mrs Pandiselvi Pandi followed by a Tamil Thai rendered by Tamil poet and founder of DSP Kavisae Sekar. Ayyappan Ramalingam opened the Aarivatair­e Arangam followed by Jaaganatha­n (past president of the forum) speech on the history of Saint Aarivatair­e. The Kuwait Nandavanam Family Associatio­n founder Senthai Ravi gave keynote speech about the organizati­on functionin­g in Kuwait.

Engr Selvaranga­n, Poet Pandiselvi Pandi and Poet Kavisae Sekar rendered the devotional Tamil Moovar Devaram following which the Tamil Poets of Kuwait Dr Kumar, Kalipulla and Sekar presented the poems on India’s independen­ce.

The Kuwait Tamil Muthamil Mandram President and Poet Kalipulla cut the Independen­ce Day cake and distribute­d to the audience. K. Manimozhia­n has been elected as the DSP President for the year 2017-18.

Mrs Vijayapriy­a Ramanan offered an attractive speech about Sekkizhar Pillai Tamil (the last part of Pillai Tamil). Mrs Devi Ravi won the Quiz contest, the fuction was concluded with vote of thanks from KOC Safety Engr B. Sekar and followed by a delicious dinner served.
