Cozmo crush Kuwait Stars in 2017 PBAK Officers Cup
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 26: The members of the ‘Super 4’ maintain their winning streak in the fifth week of the Philippine Bowling Association in Kuwait Officers Cup Team Tournament2017 held at Cozmo Bowling Center in Kheifan. Some teams outside loop continued to struggle to keep up with their team standings. Landing on the fifth place this week was Original Pin Killers with 550 points away from Turkey Hunters, holder of the last seat of the top 4. This week’s top winners were Cozmo, 2X Strikers, Al Qassem All Stars, Nusantara and Original Pin Killers while Asian Air Safari had to slid down. Meanwhile, 2X Strikers’ Abel Nitikusumo won back from her teammate the Ladies B Individual High Game 180- 170.
The Original Pin Killers pinned down the Turkey Hunters in the first two games 1062- 923, 965- 927 but the fowl Hunters with depleted lineup still managed to win the last game 897-878 but remained futile after the summation of the final score 2980- 2772. The Pin Killers surged from eighth to fifth place with Ahmad Fail Karam (583) at the helm supported by Christopher Bush (476), Aji Varghese, Rashid Aker Ali, Alma Turley, Hesham Khaled Ahmed, Fawaz Rabah Naeem and Ishaaq Al Waahid. For Turkey Hunters the 4-man team were Ayad Al Ameri (601), Rani Skeik (584), Rudy de Lima (555) and Feraz Al Muhareb (468) and despite the loss still the Hunters kept he fourth slot in the ‘Super 4.’
The two teams with identical four losses faced each other and NUSANTARA relished its first win while Swooping Eagles headed for its fifth losing streak. The game had the more favoured Swooping Eagles in the first game 918- 829 due to Nusantara’s lack of players but in the second and third games, the 4-man team of Indonesia overpowered the Eagles 958891, 912- 868 and the final score was 2774- 2702. The courageous Nusan- tara were Tatang Razak (552), Ahmad Fahmi (471), Saleh Al Faraj (464) and Erlissa Gantosoti (438) while Swooping Eagles had Jessica Balagat (524), Danny Solis (520), Riz Roque (505), Jocelyn Borros, Alonzo Bush and Mona Corpus. With the win-lose results Nusantara was out as a cellar dweller while the Eagles are stuck on its present position.
Al Qassem All Stars Strikers, in a word, dominant for the season, recorded its fifth straight win against Haribon Slazers 3145- 2654. All Stars dismissed its enemy with impressive performance considered too explosive after zeroing the Slazers with 1021- 901, 1078- 871, 1021- 882 results. The prolific scorers of Al Qassem were Fahad Al Rageeg (648), Abdul Aziz Al Aslawi (631), Ibrahim Al Jadi (620), Habeeb Reda (585) and Hassan Al Qassem (408) while Haribon bowlers were Mar Evangelista (519), Joel Tizn (465), Eddie Pena, Moises Amahan, Agnes Noble, Eden Evangelista and Maria Perly Virly. Al Qassem remained on top while Haribon Slazers slid from number five to number six.
2X Strikers registered its second win after it subdued Mangaf Strikers 2636- 2538. In the first game Mangaf bowlers won the game over its rival 825- 740 but in the last two games 2X Men retaliated with scores of 900- 799, 971- 914. The match- up between Cozmo and Kuwait Stars was considered a fight between giants and dwarves where the Cozmo guys won 1035- 780, 955- 818, 1013- 840 (3028- 2440) while Asian Air Safari played bye with score of 2859.
Meanwhile, for Individual Best and Teams Best results. For Individual High Game – Mens A- COZMO Salem Hajras snatched from Aseel Al Roomi of Asian Air Safari (278- 276); Mens B- Turkey Hunters Feras Al Mehareb (268); Mens C- Gantosori Tanjung of Nusantara (255) and in Ladies A- Al Qassem Hanadi Mezaiel (196) while in Ladies B – 2X Strikers Abel Nitikusumo retrieved from teammate Imelda Daguio (180- 170). For Individual High Average – Mens A- Hassan Karam — Cozmo (219.75); Mens B- OPK Aji Varghese (190); Mens C- Turkey Hunters Abdul Rahman Al Tayeb (165.67); Ladies A- All Stars Hanadi Mezaiel (186.78) and Ladies B- Abel Nitikusumo (146.82).
