Bid to check mental ability of domestic workers before coming to Kuwait
PAY launches modern weekly youth magazine
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 28: Ministry of Health is in the process of preparing regulations to add to the current medical examination form the requirement to check the mental ability of domestic workers to be brought to Kuwait for work, reports AlShahed daily.
The ministry took into consideration the time factor in the examination process so that it would not be a burden in the speedy completion of medical examination procedures for domestic workers.
Kuwait’s Public Authority for Youth has launched its weekly modern magazine, the Youth News Network (YNN), which covers the activities and initiatives of Kuwaiti youth.
Deputy Director-General of the magazine Dr Fawaz Al-Ajmi said in a press release on Monday that the magazine will also highlight the achievements of Kuwaiti youth and their excellence in various fields at the local, regional and international levels.
He added that the magazine will also follow the latest developments of youth work in the Arab countries and the world and to disseminate youth’s issues to all the State bodies related to youth work.
He pointed out that the magazine, headed by the Director General of the Public Authority for Youth, Abdulrahman AlMutairi will be run and managed by a team of young people specialized in the areas of writing, photography, editing and direction, stressing the authority’s concern to provide what is appropriate for young Kuwaitis and to show their work and achievements in the appropriate manner.
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 28, (KUNA): His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on Monday received in the presence of First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah AlKhaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah at Seif Palace, the visiting Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, they reviewed the distinguished historical relations between the State of Kuwait and the Russian Federation at all levels and highlighted developments at the regional and international levels.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Suleiman Al-Jarallah, Head of His Highness the Prime Minister’s Diwan Sheikha Etmad Khaled AlAhmad Al-Sabah and Assistant Foreign Minister for Europe Affairs Ambassador Waleed Ali AlKhubaizi.
Meanwhile, Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah met his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on Monday, as both officials held talks over bilateral ties and current global happenings.
Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled and Lavrov, who is on an official visit to Kuwait, also dissected numerous issues of mutual concern in a meeting that brought together a bevy of Kuwaiti and Russian diplomats.
Furthermore, Kuwait and Honduras have signed an agreement for promoting and developing bilateral economic and technical cooperation, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Finance said.
The agreement was signed by Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Finance Khalifa Hamada and Honduran Ambassador in Kuwait Nelson Garcia, the ministry said in a statement.
Kuwait is interested in promoting economic relations with all countries in order to create a congenial atmosphere for economic, trade and investment development, it added.
The agreement is deemed a springboard for closer economic cooperative relations between Kuwait and Honduras, the ministry noted.
