Campaign against ‘chaos’ to continue
The Public Relations Department at Kuwait Municipality has con- firmed continuation of the cam- paign entitled, “With Your Cooperation … We Garnish It,” which includes raising the standard of public hygiene, combating street vendors, and removing abandoned vehicles and those for sale, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
In a press statement, the department explained the campaign aims to encourage the public to submit their complaints and suggestions through the Municipality’s social media account @kuwmun. The department said the complaints and suggestions are referred to the relevant departments and then the complainants are informed about the action taken
regarding their complaints.
The recent campaign carried out in the Capital and Jahra gov- ernorates resulted in the issuance of 160 citations for various violations, removal of 36 abandoned vehicles and disposal of 10 kilograms of spoiled foodstuff.
Acting Director of the Public Hygiene and Road Occupancy Department at the Municipality branch in the Capital Governorate Jamal Al-Fadli affirmed the removal of 36 abandoned cars and issuance of 145 citations for different violations — 49 for violations of public hygiene regulations, 74 for road occupancy violations and 22 violations of Law No. 9/1987, in addition to issuing 665 warnings to violating shops and putting 545 stickers on abandoned vehicles and those for sale.
Assistant observer Salah AlFarhan, shift supervisor Jamal Al-Asfar, and inspectors Waled Al-Kandari, Ahmed Al-Mreshed, Yusuf Al-Dousari, Saad Al-Otaibi, Sultan Dehdab and Muhammad Al-Sananeri participated in the campaign.
Meanwhile, acting Director of the Audit and Follow Up Department at the Municipality Abdullah Al-Shemmari disclosed that the department’s inspectors launched an inspection campaign in Jahra markets, leading to the issuance of 15 citations for nutrition and advertisement violations, as well as disposal of 10 kilograms of spoiled foodstuff.
