‘79 govt agencies have applied electronic messaging system’
MPW committed to fingerprint attendance
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 30: Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Minister of Information Sheikh Mohammed Al-Abdullah said 79 government agencies and 377 sub-units have applied the electronic messaging system and stopped the manual transmission, reports Annahar daily.
He added, the technical needs are being processed for four other agencies to be able to use the electronic communication system.
The data attached to the reply of Minister Al-Abdullah, according to a copy of the document obtained by the daily which was prepared by the Central Agency for Information Technology, it is clear 95 percent of the government agencies currently apply the electronic messaging system.
He said this comes on the basis of the Decision No. 412 of 2014 of the Council of Ministers, which stipulated in one of its clauses that all government agencies must start using the electronic communication system between them using modern applications.
Meanwhile, Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative, Financial and Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Public Works, Hamad Al-Gharib said the 35 vacant posts for managers and supervisors in the ministry will be announced after the Eid Al-Adha festival, reports Al-Anba daily.
In the meantime, he added the ministry is committed to applying the fingerprint attendance system on all 13,500 employees without exception, in accordance with the decision of the Civil Service Bureau.
He said the decision is scheduled to be implemented next October. He stressed, the ministry is committed to all decisions received from the regulatory authorities.
Furthermore, Minister of Oil and Minister of Electricity and Water Essam Al-Marzouq declared the issuance of the variation order related to the technical maintenance contract so that the relevant company can obtain from the ministry the salaries of its employees, reports Al-Rai daily.
In a press release, the minister indicated that the due salaries to the employees of the company will be paid within the coming few days.
He revealed that he held a meeting with the company in the presence of the Undersecretary of Ministry of Electricity and Water Mohammad Boushahri, Assistant Undersecretary for Electricity Transportation Networks Eng. Jassem Al-Nouri and Assistant Undersecretary for Electricity Distribution Networks Eng. Jassem Al-Lunqawin with the aim of finding a solution to the non-payment of salaries to the company employees.
Al-Marzouq affirmed that the variation order has contributed to solving the problem. In addition, he disclosed that the ministry will soon float a tender for obtaining technical laborers for the maintenance of the Electricity Transportation Networks and Electricity Distribution Networks as the current contract has expired.
In another development, Acting Undersecretary at the Ministry of Health Dr Mohammad Al-Khashti announced reactivating hotline ‘151’ for medical consultations where Kuwaiti medical experts will be responding to inquiries from the public, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
In a statement, Al-Khashti affirmed the service will raise the level of healthcare awareness and educate society. He explained that experts will be offering pieces of advice regarding non communicable chronic diseases and psychological diseases such as anxiety, drug addiction and depression. He noted the service will reduce the burden on hospitals and health centers.
He stressed consultations will lead to referral of patients to appropriate doctors where a team of medical personnel will handle cases through medical guidelines and instructions. He assured experts will treat cases as matters of urgency.
