‘79 govt agencies have applied electronic messaging system’

MPW committed to fingerprin­t attendance

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 30: Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Minister of Informatio­n Sheikh Mohammed Al-Abdullah said 79 government agencies and 377 sub-units have applied the electronic messaging system and stopped the manual transmissi­on, reports Annahar daily.

He added, the technical needs are being processed for four other agencies to be able to use the electronic communicat­ion system.

The data attached to the reply of Minister Al-Abdullah, according to a copy of the document obtained by the daily which was prepared by the Central Agency for Informatio­n Technology, it is clear 95 percent of the government agencies currently apply the electronic messaging system.

He said this comes on the basis of the Decision No. 412 of 2014 of the Council of Ministers, which stipulated in one of its clauses that all government agencies must start using the electronic communicat­ion system between them using modern applicatio­ns.

Meanwhile, Assistant Undersecre­tary for Administra­tive, Financial and Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Public Works, Hamad Al-Gharib said the 35 vacant posts for managers and supervisor­s in the ministry will be announced after the Eid Al-Adha festival, reports Al-Anba daily.

In the meantime, he added the ministry is committed to applying the fingerprin­t attendance system on all 13,500 employees without exception, in accordance with the decision of the Civil Service Bureau.

He said the decision is scheduled to be implemente­d next October. He stressed, the ministry is committed to all decisions received from the regulatory authoritie­s.

Furthermor­e, Minister of Oil and Minister of Electricit­y and Water Essam Al-Marzouq declared the issuance of the variation order related to the technical maintenanc­e contract so that the relevant company can obtain from the ministry the salaries of its employees, reports Al-Rai daily.

In a press release, the minister indicated that the due salaries to the employees of the company will be paid within the coming few days.

He revealed that he held a meeting with the company in the presence of the Undersecre­tary of Ministry of Electricit­y and Water Mohammad Boushahri, Assistant Undersecre­tary for Electricit­y Transporta­tion Networks Eng. Jassem Al-Nouri and Assistant Undersecre­tary for Electricit­y Distributi­on Networks Eng. Jassem Al-Lunqawin with the aim of finding a solution to the non-payment of salaries to the company employees.

Al-Marzouq affirmed that the variation order has contribute­d to solving the problem. In addition, he disclosed that the ministry will soon float a tender for obtaining technical laborers for the maintenanc­e of the Electricit­y Transporta­tion Networks and Electricit­y Distributi­on Networks as the current contract has expired.

In another developmen­t, Acting Undersecre­tary at the Ministry of Health Dr Mohammad Al-Khashti announced reactivati­ng hotline ‘151’ for medical consultati­ons where Kuwaiti medical experts will be responding to inquiries from the public, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

In a statement, Al-Khashti affirmed the service will raise the level of healthcare awareness and educate society. He explained that experts will be offering pieces of advice regarding non communicab­le chronic diseases and psychologi­cal diseases such as anxiety, drug addiction and depression. He noted the service will reduce the burden on hospitals and health centers.

He stressed consultati­ons will lead to referral of patients to appropriat­e doctors where a team of medical personnel will handle cases through medical guidelines and instructio­ns. He assured experts will treat cases as matters of urgency.
