Fuel demand cut due to hurricane:

Minister of Oil and Minister of Electricit­y and Water Essam Al-Marzouq, in response to a question concerning whether the cost of fuel imported by Kuwait will be affected by the shutting down of refineries in Texas due to the Hurricane Harvey, affirmed that the fuel imported by Kuwait in the last quarter of 2017 will be the regular quantity and that Kuwait imports fuel based on the current market prices, reports Annahar daily. He revealed that Kuwait imported 200,000 tons of Premium (Octane 91) fuel and 200,000 tons of Super (Octane 95) fuel in 2017.

The minister indicated that the demand has reduced due to the Hurricane Harvey and the shutting down of some refineries in the affected areas.

It is worth mentioning that the Kuwaiti oil prices in August 2017 were $48.5 per barrel. Compared to the oil prices in July 2017 when they were $45.7, there has been an increase of $2.6 per barrel.

The average price of Kuwaiti oil in the fiscal year of 2016/2017, which ended in March 2017, was $44.7 per barrel.

MPW reshuffles, transfers 15 officials:

Undersecre­tary at the Ministry of Public Works Engineer Awatef Al-Ghunaim has issued a decision to reshuffle, delegate and transfer 15 directors of the ministry, reports Al-Anba daily.

The decision includes transfer of Fawzia AlJudai as head of the Office of Planning and Follow up at Road Sector, Mansour Bu Mejdad as head of the Office of Planning and Follow up at Government Center, Omar Bu Hamad as Director of Building Maintenanc­e and Reconstruc­tion Projects at Mubarak Al-Kabeer, and Anwar AlMulla as Head of Planning and Follow up at Reconstruc­tion Projects Sector.
