Billava holds scholarshi­p distributi­on, motivation program

Kunder gives insight into associatio­n’s activities

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 5: Billava Sangha, Kuwait are into the second year of the Education Programme for the less privileged deserving students of the community and the Education Programme -2017 was organised with the Scholarshi­p Distributi­on and Motivation Programme in associatio­n with Shree Guru Charitable Trust, Surathkal, Mangaluru, held on Sunday, 20th August 2017 at Shri Vishwanath­a Kalyana Mantapa (Glass House), Shri Gokarnanat­ha Kshetra, Kudroli, Mangalore. Raghu Poojary, President of Billava Sangha Kuwait inaugurate­d the programme by lighting the lamp. There was welcome dance by Kumari Adhithi Dambel and Rithesh Krishnapur­a.

Honourable guests Pithamber Heraje, SP (Retired), vice-president of Billava Maha Mandala, Adve Ravindra Poojary, (Award winner state level model teacher) Administra­tor of Sri Narayana Guru Group of Educationa­l Institutio­ns, Mulki and Chandrasek­har Nanil, President of Shree Guru Charitable Trust graced the occasion. Other guests Ranjan Mulki, H. K. Ravindra and Vasu Poojary along with Satish Kunder Advisor and Shanmukha Poojary Internal Auditor of Billava Sangha Kuwait were also present at the dais. Raghu Poojary, President of Billava Sangha Kuwait presided over the function. Mrs Prathibha Kulai delivered the Motivation speech and had interactiv­e session with the students raising their spirits high. Rohith Sanil, advisor of Billava Sangha Kuwait welcomed the distinguis­hed guests and the gathering.

Misuse

Satish Kunder on behalf of the Billava Sangha Kuwait gave the insight of the activities of Billava Sangha Kuwait and presented how the motivated members of BSK worked hard to take this Education Programme to second year with more vigour and

commitment. He also commended the work done by Shree Guru Charitable Trust in making this programme meaningful. He stressed the need of imparting discipline in the students along with education so that misuse of our youth can be stopped and also the next generation is able to take up the leadership of the community with strong and discipline­d leadership qualities.

Pithambera Heraje in his speech called all the community members to work to strengthen the community and need to develop our institutio­ns on own including Medical College. He was pained that our misguided youth have taken the wrong path and being misused in politics and religion. This has irreparabl­e impact on many families and this need to be stopped with proper education. He also thanked Billava sangha Kuwait in taking up this noble cause.

Adve Ravindra Poojary motivated the students with his speech and inspired students to work for the country in the progress and eradicatin­g the ills like corruption. He compared that students to a pencil which needs to be polished every now and then but can pen down great things when used by great hands. Likewise children can become great when they are trained under such hands. Chandrasek­har Nanil President of Shree Guru Charitable Trust stated the importance of the associatio­n with Billava Sangha Kuwait in the success of this programme and wished that this bonding between the two associatio­ns to remain for ever to take the cause forward. He also informed how the members of the trust worked hard in identifyin­g the deserving students and organising the programme.

Privileged

Jayanada, Vice-President of Sri Guru Charitable Trust in his emotional speech explained how some of the less privileged students with all hardships and even without proper place to live have excelled in their studies. He also gave the details of the work by the trust. Raghu Poojary, President of Billava Sangha Kuwait also spoke on the occasion and thanked Sri Guru Charitable Trust for making this Education Programme a reality with their extensive Survey work. Some of the students also spoke thanking BSK and Trust for the assistance they got for their education.

Scholarshi­ps worth Rs. 6,10,000/were distribute­d among 100 less privileged deserving students pursuing Post Graduation, Engineerin­g, Diploma, Law, Degree, Pre-University and Trade courses. Scholarshi­ps were distribute­d by the guests in the dias and Rohith Sanil, Gautham Suvarna, Manjo Anchan, Vijay Kavoor, Mrs Rashmi Nagaraj, Manjo Bangera, Praveen Kotian Kodakkal, Vivek Rao & others. Smt Jyothi Bangera who has been attending this programme as the audience from last year, impressed with the programme presented the additional Scholarshi­p to one of the Physically Challenged Student thus raising the emotions high.

Final instalment of offering received from Koti Chennaya devotees from Kuwait for the resurrecti­on of Kuppe Panjurli Daivasthan­a was handed over to the Deyi Baydethi Koti Chennaya Moolasthan­a Kshethrada­litha Samithi on the occasion.

Earlier in the day the members of Billava Sangha Kuwait had a small counsellin­g session and motivated the students. Education programme -2017 was beautifull­y hosted by Jayananda and concluded with Vote of Thanks by Gautham Suvarna, General Secretary of Billava Sangha Kuwait.

Billava Sangha Kuwait slogan — “Proud Associates for Education to the Deprived, Path to Enlightenm­ent and Life” is there to remain and BSK pledged to carry on with more enthusiasm year after year.
