Concerning the wave of interpellations by several MPs against some members of the Cabinet, MP Al-Damkhi said, “Interpellation is the constitutional right of every MP. This right should not be restrained by any means. We respect the work of MPs and we deal calmly without any haste as though interpellation is a dangerous issue”.
He went on to say, “We should instead study the points of discussion in the interpellation in order to verify its merits. If its merits are not worthwhile, everyone bears their own responsibility in this regard”.
MP Al-Damkhi indicated that the government is in need of initiating changes in its Cabinet or carrying out a reshuffle, as the public is angry with some ministers, adding that this means the government should review the existence of such ministers in the Cabinet.
Spokesman of the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) Ibrahim Al-Nashi has vehemently denied rumors spread on social media about the cancellation of rent allowance for housing grant applicants who fail to update their data before Sept 15, reports Al-Rai daily.
In a press statement, Al-Nashi affirmed the authority is still updating the data of all applicants and it did not set a deadline for this procedure. He affirmed the relevant departments have informed all those who need to update or change their data but it did not specify the period for them to do so.
He explained the cancellation of rent allowance is a violation of PAHW Law which states the applicant must have a family consisting of at least two persons in addition to himself, the applicant was not offered a house before and did not give up a house, plot or flat.
He then advised those who submitted their housing grant applications to visit the authority if there are changes in their status or any related information.
