More angelic than an angel

- By Ali Al-Baghli Former Minister of Oil

MANY people were shocked by the recent decision of our intelligent government represented by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Interior to send back the Ambassador of Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea) in Kuwait, and to reduce North Korean diplomatic representation to four individuals as well as to suspend renewal of visas for the labor force from that country.

Such a reaction is due to the fact that no member state of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which is actually tottering in the recent crisis among its member states, or even the Arab League took such a decision.

This decision was dictated to the world by the administration of the United States of America’s President Donald Trump, and the only countries that responded to this decision were the USA, two South American countries, and Kuwait with its intelligent government.

This decision prompted North Korea, which US considers it as a renegade country, to launch Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles that went over Japan — a solid ally of America. It also led to continuation of successful nuclear tests by this country in order to create a balance in nuclear threats with the world leader, the United States of America.

The whole world is still wondering about the US invasion of Iraq in 2003 which was based on the excuse that Iraq possesses weapons of mass destruction. However, such weapons have not yet been found.

What can stop the USA from doing the same when confronting the North Korea and its dictatorial leader with his famous haircut, who continues to sting our beloved US President Trump, especially with the latter becoming a laughing stock in talk shows that

are broadcasted daily in America and being hated by millions of his people?

Brothers, we are a small country and we need to maintain strong relations with the entire world. The leader of our course — His Highness the Amir of humanitarian work Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah — took a distinguished stance in the Gulf crisis. The world placed all its hopes on Kuwaiti mediation led by the global humanitarian leader for the dispute between Qatar and some other GCC countries such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to be resolved.

Why should we create a new enemy, which is North Korea, without any convincing justifications for doing so, especially since that country is located thousands of kilometers away from us?

By boycotting Pyongyang, why have we suddenly become involved in this issue? Why are we trying to be more angelic than an angel without any convincing justification?!!
