ABCK Back to Business networking
Platform to discuss business operations between US, Kuwait
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 20: The American Business Council of Kuwait (ABCK) hosted their annual Back to Business networking meeting at the Millennium Hotel and Convention Centre with US Ambassador Silverman and senior Embassy staff in attendance. Close to 100 guests attended the event and were able to network with key Embassy staff and industry leaders. The Embassy Consular staff were present to answer questions on consular matters.
ABCK Chair Dr Juliet Dinkha welcomed Ambassador Silverman and the guests back to the first official event after the summer break. Ambassador Silverman highlighted the recent successful visit by the Amir to Washington as well as the second Strategic Dialogue, the signing of several arrangements between the two governments, and a commercial conference including both government officials and businesspeople. Ambassador Silverman said, “The high level of participation by leaders of both countries, as well as the concrete steps we agreed to take in areas affecting security, trade, investment, customs and education, is a testament to the strength, closeness and strategic importance of the relationship between our two countries.”
The Ambassador then introduced new key staff at the Embassy including Deputy Chief of Mission Ms Patricia Fietz. Dr Dinkha closed the evening with a highlight of the recent upgrades in membership packages for ABCK and upcoming events including October’s meeting on bidding on US defense contracts and focus groups on contracts in Kuwait. After dinner, guests were able to easily network with the Ambassador and key embassy staff and the other guests. It was a very productive evening for the guests and a great start to the new year.
