News in Brief
MP eyes political movement:
MP Ahmed Al-Fadhl disclosed that parliamentary arrangements are being made for launching a political movement, warning that such actions are completely rejected and he is against it, reports Al-Nahar daily.
He wondered what kind of movement this is and the purpose behind it especially at a time when the region is embroiled in the current blazing conditions and with Kuwait trying to solve the Gulf crisis.
Al-Fadhl insisted that this movement will leave behind negative and dangerous consequences, stressing that any citizen who is keen about the interest of Kuwait will not step out of his house to participate in activities such as strikes and demonstrations.
He said the political movement has its legal approaches represented in the MPs who represent the people, adding, “Those who have any objections to any issue can go to the MPs who must deal with their requests through constitutional channels”.
Meanwhile, MP Nasser Al-Dousari said the parliament is planning to activate monitoring tools, affirming that interpellation awaits those ministers who are laggard.
He indicated that the government did not take any actions towards handling issues of parliamentary priority such as citizenship withdrawals.

Sources attributed this to the use of ‘wasta’ (influence) in the recruitment of teachers, disclosing the concerned educational district has not taken any action and it even issued reshuffling decisions randomly.
Irregularities given to MoSAL:
Reports on alleged irregularities in some cooperative societies that some consultants have submitted to Minister of Social Affairs and Labor (MoSAL) and State Minister for Economic Affairs Hind Al-Sabeeh caused chaos and confusion, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources.
Sources disclosed the consultants’ lack of awareness and experience in the cooperative sector led to financial disasters made worse by the Cooperative Societies Law. They also criticized the random decisions and use of ‘wasta’ (influence) in the appointment process, as well as the prevalence of injustice because of tribalism and sectarianism.
