Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan fraternity in Kuwait celebrates 11th Founder’s Day

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 20: The Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan fraternity in Kuwait celebrated the 11th Founder’s Day, in the school auditorium recently as a symbol of respect and gratitude to the Founder and Chairman of the institutio­ns in the Middle East, N. K. Ramachandr­an Menon -- a great visionary with a mission.

The chief guest was Mrs Sudha Ramachandr­an. The occasion was graced by Menon, principals and administra­tors of Bhavans Kuwait fraternity. The invitees comprised the teachers, parents of students and media.

Before the start of the function the Junior Library under the title ‘Tagore Library’ was inaugurate­d by the chief guest.

In the auditorium, the main event unfolded with the recital from the Holy Quran followed by the prayer song rendered by the school choir. The ceremonial lamp was conjointly lit by Sudha Ram ac hand ran, N. K. Ram a chandran Men on, Principals of Bhavans Kuwait, T. Premkumar, Mahesh Iyer and Mrs Rathi Ravindran.

An invocation dance was staged by the budding talents of Bhavans to mark the beginning of the cultural fiesta of the evening.

Then the curtain was drawn to delineate the multi-dimensiona­l life of the most powerful and perfect creation of God, woman, Sthree, the Aadhiparas­akthi, the S ar wag un ad ha ayi ni, the Sarwajnane­shw ari and the Sh ak this waroopani.

‘Sthree Parva,’ the epic dance drama portrayed the lives of many a legendary Indian woman from the glorious past, and some of the brightest and the invincible womanly minds of the country in the present.

The cultural fiesta conveyed the message that woman is the source of life, happiness and peace so she should be revered, admired and adored. It was indeed a true dedication and celebratio­n of womanhood.

Shivani Menon of grade 10 expressed her sincere gratitude to Bhavans for having molded her into a person who could face an audience with confidence.

N. K. Ramachandr­an Menon was given a standing ovation by the audience for expanding an excellent and exceptiona­l educationa­l empire in the Middle East and in India, under his able guidance, to comprise more than 15 institutio­ns in a span of 11 years.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs Meenakshi Nayyar, Vice-Principal, CCA, IES.
