KUWAIT CITY, Sept 20: Officers affiliated to Public Security Sector arrested a citizen born in 1966 wanted for financial offense involving KD 1.11 million.

A security source said the suspect aroused suspicion of patrolmen on a round of a governorate and they ordered him to pull up for checking. The officers discovered his involvement in the aforementioned debt while checking his details. He was referred to relevant authorities.

Meanwhile, securitymen from the Capital arrested a Kuwaiti citizen in his mid-30s when they discovered he was dodging two years jail term in connection with drugs and KD 48,138 debt.

Beauty salon on bus:

Officers from Farwaniya Security Command arrested a Bangladeshi and two Filipinas for violating the Residency Law and for transforming a bus into a massage parlor and beauty salon, reports Al-Rai daily.

While patrolling in Reggae, the officers got suspicious when they noticed a bus with tinted windows. They signaled the driver — a Bangladeshi — to pull over for routine inspection. When the officers searched the bus, they found a well-decorated room with different types of cosmetics and gondola. They also saw two Filipinas inside the room.

Upon checking the identification documents of the Bangladeshi and the two Filipinas, the officers discovered that the trio violated the Residency Law. During interrogation, the suspects admitted that they offer massage and beautification services to customers whom they contact through social networking sites.

All three suspects were referred to the concerned security department for legal action.

Kuwaiti man blackmailed:

Moroccan authorities have concluded investigation on the issue of four individuals, including a girl, arrested for blackmailing a Kuwaiti citizen, reports Al-Anba daily.

Lawyer Al-Kandari left the country for the Kingdom of Morocco to submit a petition and file lawsuit against the first suspect for blackmailing the plaintiff using his still and motion photo obtained via social media.

With arrest of the last three persons, the number of accused has reached four — all of them Moroccans. They admitted filming and blackmailing the Kuwaiti citizen (34 years old) through the lady when she made friends with him via social networking site ‘Line, and obtained his photos. She went ahead and shared the photos with the three suspects based on a previous agreement, and they threatened to upload them on social media if he refused to transfer the ransom they were demanding.

The accused managed to extort KD 4,000 from the plaintiff. Apparently, he was obliged to transfer the sum in order to avoid a scandal but the accused still uploaded the clip on the side of YouTube that automatically rejects erotic films. They threatened again to upload it on social media, including Instagram.

Plaintiff lawyer Ali Al-Kandari said the case is postponed until Sept 27 pending judgement.

Al-Kandari is the first Kuwaiti lawyer going this far to file lawsuit against suspects for blackmailing a Kuwaiti citizen through personal photos they obtained on social media. Following the necessary legal procedures with the Moroccan Public Prosecution, arrest warrant was issued against the first suspect and she was charged to court. Investigation led to arrest of three other individuals involved in the crime.

Lawyer Al-Kandari has vowed to follow-up the investigation and court procedures to ensure the suspects are

sufficiently punished and the plaintiff adequately compensated. He also cautions GCC nationals to watch out for hackers and intruders while on social media, because they are targeted by criminals online.

12 in ‘flesh’ trade:

General Department of Public Relations and Security Media at Ministry of Interior, in a press statement, revealed that 12 Asian men and women were arrested due to their involvement in immoral activities.

It explained that officers from the General Department of Residency Investigations carried out investigations to confirm the tipoff they received about the suspicious activities of the expatriates.

After confirming the information and taking necessary legal measures, securitymen raided the den and arrested the 12 suspects who were discovered to be in violation of the residency law and were reported as absconding. They were referred to

the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.

Liquor trader nabbed:

An Asian expatriate was arrested for trafficking in locally manufactured liquor, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

According to security sources, Ahmadi securitymen were on routine patrol when they suspected a parked bus with a single occupant.

They checked his details and discovered he is an Asian expatriate. Sensing his nervousness, they checked the bus to find a carton containing 312 polyethylene bottles filled with locally manufactured liquor. In addition, Ahmadi securitymen also arrested an Egyptian expatriate in Fahaheel area in possession of a cigarette stuffed with hashish as well as narcotic pills.

When they checked his details, they discovered he was wanted by law. He was referred with the drugs to the Drugs Control General Department for necessary legal action.
