KFA meets on Oct 31 to elect new board
Lifting of FIFA ban on Kuwait eyed Atletico to host final of 2019 CL
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 20: The sports circles are looking forward to the meeting of the General Assembly of the Kuwait Football Association (KFA) on Oct 31, 2017, to elect a new board of directors instead of the newly-formed interim committee headed by Ibrahim Al-Shehab, reports AlAnba daily.
This meeting and new elections aim to take an important step to meet the requirements of the International Football Federation (FIFA) to lift sports ban imposed on Kuwait for 2 successive years, because FIFA refuses to recognize the dissolution of the KFA headed by Sheikh Talal AlFahd.
The clubs Al-Nasr, Al-Tadhamum, Al-Yarmouk, Al-Sahel, AlJahra, Al-Shabab, Al-Sulaibikhat and Al-Khaitan have expressed their desire to support the no-confidence in the former board which was dissolved by the Public Authority for Youth and Sports and the formation of a temporary committee until new elections are held on Oct 31, to elect a new board.
There are several names proposed for the post of president and the candidacy of Sheikh Ahmed Al-Yousef has been announced by the Salmiya Club. He previously headed the federation as a successor to Sheikh Ahmad AlFahd. He also headed a transitional committee at the beginning of the crisis.
Al-Qadsiya intends to persuade Sheikh Talal Al-Fahd to run for the post but this seems to be a distant reality. However, Al-Qadsiya seems to ei-

The name of Fawaz Al-Hassawi has been sounded, but he is waiting on the sidelines until situation becomes clear.
However, for the time being his candidacy has been ruled out.
