Regarding Kuwait’s cooperation with other countries, she revealed that Kuwait had contributed to a uranium enrichment bank in Kazakhstan as a part of the GCC nation’s belief in the peaceful use of this type of energy resource.

On Iran, Al-Sayed Omar called on Tehran to continue its transparent dealings with the IAEA, affirming that it would benefit the security of the region.

Atomic energy is part of the whole alternative energy ensemble which should be sought by all nations, said the Kuwaiti official.

She also reflected her satisfaction with the level of cooperation between the IAEA’s program and KISR.

In regards to Kuwait’s own projects, the Kuwaiti official affirmed that there were 11 projects underway in 2017 and 2018, revealing that they are mostly connected with protecting the environment from radioactive pollutants, and with medical use of atomic energy.
