Staff from imported food dept sent to PAFN

Health Inspection depts to be transferre­d

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 28: A decision was issued recently for the delegation of 300 employees from the Imported Food Department of the Service Sector to the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN) by the beginning of the coming week, reports AlQabas daily quoting informed sources from Kuwait Municipali­ty.

They explained that all employees, buildings and department­s of the Imported Food Department will be transferre­d to the supervisio­n of PAFN based on the Cabinet’s decision in this regard. These department­s include Department of Audit and Technical Inspection, Department of Follow-UP and Monitoring, Department of Investment, Imported Food department­s at the land borders of Sulaibiya, Nuwaiseeb, Salmi and Abdali, and the sectors of air and marine imports at Shuwaikh Port, Shuaiba, Doha and Kuwait Internatio­nal Airport.

The sources revealed that 300 employees will be delegated until required job vacancies are declared, after which they will be transferre­d permanentl­y, indicating that this is expected to happen in April 2018.

The sources added that the Health Inspection department­s in all governorat­es will be transferre­d to supervisio­n of PAFN in December 2017 including all employees and units of the department.

They said PAFN will hand over the building of Imported Food Department at Sulaibikha­t area temporaril­y until the building of the food-testing laboratory is completed and then the Sulaibikha­t building will be returned to Kuwait Municipali­ty.
