KUWAIT CITY, Sept 28: The government will soon adopt a project for ensuring protection of youths from terrorism and extremism, with the participation of Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Information, Public Authority for Youth and Sports Affairs and other concerned authorities, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting informed sources.

They said this new project will soon be launched with the aim of spreading the culture of moderation among employees in ministries, universities and schools, improving religious speeches and sermons, eliminating anything that can incite strife and violence, and correcting misconceptions and suspicions.

The sources explained that the government considers sectarianism, violence and extremism as a disease that has spread throughout the country. The manifestations of violence appeared in the university elections, which warn of disturbing and dangerous behavior in the future if not curbed. Besides, there are some extremist movements which are considered as a danger to the youths due to the emergence of sheikhs and advocates who are promoting extremism and ideas that should be confronted and addressed by government agencies to prevent their reach to the youths and spread in the society.

They affirmed that the project aims at establishing a center in each governorate to confront all negative phenomena, violence and extremism as well as receive complaints and prevent the outbreak of extremism.
