Minister of Oil and Water, Eng Essam Al-Marzouq, stressed that “the allocation of fuel filling stations is at the discretion of the State and not the Kuwait Petroleum Corporatio­n (KPC),” reports Al-Rai daily.

Al-Marzouq told the daily that the state is the one that determines the strategic orientatio­ns of its assets and the fuel stations are among these assets.

He pointed out that the rights of all workers are protected and will be taken into considerat­ion in all the facilities of the Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) without prejudice to any of their advantages.

The Kuwait National Petroleum Union has called on the local marketing department to go on strike today to protest the handing over of fuel stations to Small Enterprise­s.

Al-Sanad added PAAAFR provides engineers to assist citizens who wish to establish such gardens through simplified landscapin­g, irrigation methods, and planting.

Kuwaiti robs expats:

Police have arrested an unidentifi­ed Kuwaiti for robbing expatriate­s and who was wanted by police in nine theft cases, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily said, security officers suspected the man in the early hours of the night and asked him to pull over.

However, the man disobeyed police orders and continued driving. All police patrols were alerted and finally he was arrested at a roadblock and referred for interrogat­ion.

During interrogat­ion police discovered he was wanted by law and that nine arrest warrants had been issued against him. He was wanted for robbing expatriate­s under threat during night time in deserted areas.

He has been handed over to the General Directorat­e Criminal Investigat­ion.

Dogs attack expat:

An Asian expatriate sustained injuries when he was attacked by a group of stray dogs while he was walking in Rahya area, says Al-Seyassah.

When the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received informatio­n about the incident, securityme­n and paramedics rushed to the location and discovered that the expatriate was bitten several times by the stray dogs.

He was immediatel­y referred to a nearby hospital for treatment.
