Kuwaiti singer Al-Khaleej appreciate­s Amir support

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 9: Kuwaiti singer Shadi Al-Khaleej expressed deep appreciati­on for the support that HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah gave to him when he was sick, particular­ly the Amir’s instructio­n to facilitate his treatment whether in the country or abroad, reports Al-Shahid daily.

In his first interview after coming back from his most recent medical trip, Al-Khaleej disclosed he was sent to the USA where he stayed for eight months to undergo treatment for cancer and other health problems.

He also called to mind the beginning stages of his career, indicating the late artiste Hamad Essa Al-Rajeeb named him ‘Shadi AlKhaleej’.

Meanwhile, famous artiste Jassem Al-Nabhan disclosed that censorship is the reason behind his decision to leave the theater, reports Al-Nahar daily.

Speaking to the daily, Al-Nabhan said Kuwait used to be the leading country in respecting freedom in all fields, so he wonders why so many restrictio­ns have been imposed particular­ly the ban on displaying many artistic works.

“Our theatric performanc­es have yet to reach the desired level because freedom is curtailed,” he added.

The great singer Abdulaziz AlMufarraj, popularly known as “Shadi Al-Khaleej” praised the performanc­e of artistes who participat­ed in the latest Operetta named “Mozakarat Bahar” which was held at Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center few weeks ago, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

During his participat­ion in the cultural event, Al-Mufarraj affirmed the importance of the role of young singers in the future.

Two popular artistes – Saad Al-Faraj and Ahmad Jowhar – collaborat­ed for the first time in the traditiona­l creative work entitled, “Smoom” (Poisons), the second part of the series, “Al-Moazeb,” which was written by Ahmad Jowhar and directed by Ahmad Abeilly, reports Al-Anba daily.

The series will be broadcaste­d exclusivel­y on KTV next Ramdan.

Jowhar expressed happiness over the chance to return to Kuwaiti drama through a television series with AlFaraj.

Actor Khalid Al-Ajairb is currently filming his new movie, “Terbal,” in Bahrain, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The script is written by Taleb AlDose while the cast include Ali AlGhareer and Khalil Al-Rumaithi.

According to Al-Ajairb, the film focuses on social issues related to black magic and sorcery.

Actor Ibrahim Al-Salal is now preparing for the filming of his new series, ‘Al-Asefa’ (The Storm), which will be shown in the holy month of Ramadan, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The series is directed by Manaf Abdal and the cast consists of a number of stars.

Well-known Kuwaiti female singer and musical icon in the Middle East Nawal Al-Kuwaitiyya, who is known as ‘Quitharat Al-Khaleej,’ will be part of the panel of judges in ‘The Voice’ (Arabic version) — a televised singing competitio­n which will be aired on MBC Channel, reports Al-Rai daily.

On her social networking account under the name ‘Ohm Haneen,’ the singer thanked the channel for giving her the opportunit­y be a judge in the show.

This came after the channel officially announced that Nawal will be one of the judges. She will replace Emirate female singer Ahlam.

Director Eman Al-Awadi has continued filming the remaining parts of her awareness and entertainm­ent program for children entitled, ‘Madam Diva,’ and broadcast on YouTube, reports Al-Rai daily.

Speaking to the daily, Al-Awadi disclosed the program focuses on the interests, concerns and hobbies of children.
