Agencies KUWAIT CITY, Nov 13: In a recent security campaign ordered by the Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah with the guidance of Interior Ministry Undersecre­tary Lieutenant General Mahmoud Al-Dosari and Assistant Undersecre­tary for Public Security Affairs Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah, 80 people were rounded up countrywid­e for drug related offenses.

Officers from the private task force apprehende­d 12 people, including a Bedoun and a Kuwaiti lady in possession of illicit pills Laricka and bottles of imported liquor.

Capital securityme­n also nabbed 30 people involved in various civil and criminal cases and two citizens also in possession of Laricka, while three citizens were apprehende­d in Ahmadi area for possessing alcohol and narcotic pills, in addition to 10 ladies wanted for financial offense alongside five expatriate­s violating residency law.

Also, in Farwaniya, officers arrested 17 residency violators among them three Asians caught peddling in liquor. All suspects have since been referred to concerned authoritie­s. About 16 people were referred to the CID for not working in the place of their residence (iqama). The campaign was carried out in sheep markets on the Wafra Road. Security agencies said the raids will continue to apprehend

illegal expats.
