NATO parliamentarians praise Kuwait relief efforts – KRCS
5,000 needy families provided with winter clothing
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 14, (KUNA): Visiting representatives of NATO Parliamentary Assembly (NATO PA) have lauded KRCS’ humanitarian and relief efforts, said Deputy Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Anwar Al-Hasawi Tuesday.
The NATO PA delegation visited KRCS facilities and viewed the operations center affiliated with the disasters and emergency department, Al-Hasawi stated to KUNA.
They also observed the relief action procedures at the alert and response sector and natural disasters monitoring centers, he added.
The NATO PA representatives were also informed about the Society’s local efforts such as providing aid to needy families and launching education campaigns to around 5,000 children of all nationalities, he said.
The NATO PA delegation also viewed a short film highlighting the Society’s various regional and international projects and aid efforts, said AlHasawi.
KRCS is moving on with providing aid and relief to countries affected by disasters, conflicts, and humanitarian crisis, he affirmed.
Meanwhile, KRCS launched winter aid campaign for 5,000 most vulnerable families in Kuwait.
The low-income families will get provisions of food and winter clothing, blankets as well as heaters.
In a statement to KUNA, volunteer Jaafar Al-Jamali from the local aid department said the distribution of winter clothes started on Monday and would continue “until we reach our of target of 5,000 families.” He said the clothes would be distributed to needy families, widows, divorcees, patients and low-income individuals.
Kuwait Aviation Fueling Company KAFCO won first place award in human resources 2017, the company announced Tuesday.
Director of administration, finance and services at KAFCO Abdullah Al-Deijani said the announcement came during HR conference and expo held earlier in Dubai.
The prize came for the distinguished efforts of KAFCO in the fields of innovation, training and development.
Al-Deijani clarified in a press release issued by the company that HR Management conference and exhibition held annually in Dubai is considered one of the important events in this respect in the Gulf region.
He noted that KAFCO won also a second place award in creativity and development of directors and CEOs.
The award was received during a special ceremony after nominating KAFCO for its training program for managing and qualifying future leadership.
Numbers of nominated companies in all criteria was decreased to four only by the Nomination Evaluating Team which consists of 11 global and regional experts in the field of human resources, said Al-Deijani.
He added that the winning came as a result of the outstanding efforts by the higher administration, employees and HR team in KAFCO.
The achievement is added to the list of awards that the company has won on regional and global levels over the past years.
