NATO par­lia­men­tar­i­ans praise Kuwait re­lief ef­forts – KRCS

5,000 needy fam­i­lies pro­vided with win­ter cloth­ing

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 14, (KUNA): Vis­it­ing rep­re­sen­ta­tives of NATO Par­lia­men­tary As­sem­bly (NATO PA) have lauded KRCS’ hu­man­i­tar­ian and re­lief ef­forts, said Deputy Chair­man of Kuwait Red Cres­cent So­ci­ety (KRCS) An­war Al-Ha­sawi Tues­day.

The NATO PA del­e­ga­tion vis­ited KRCS fa­cil­i­ties and viewed the op­er­a­tions cen­ter af­fil­i­ated with the dis­as­ters and emer­gency depart­ment, Al-Ha­sawi stated to KUNA.

They also ob­served the re­lief ac­tion pro­ce­dures at the alert and re­sponse sec­tor and nat­u­ral dis­as­ters mon­i­tor­ing cen­ters, he added.

The NATO PA rep­re­sen­ta­tives were also in­formed about the So­ci­ety’s lo­cal ef­forts such as pro­vid­ing aid to needy fam­i­lies and launch­ing ed­u­ca­tion cam­paigns to around 5,000 chil­dren of all na­tion­al­i­ties, he said.

The NATO PA del­e­ga­tion also viewed a short film high­light­ing the So­ci­ety’s var­i­ous re­gional and in­ter­na­tional projects and aid ef­forts, said AlHa­sawi.

KRCS is mov­ing on with pro­vid­ing aid and re­lief to coun­tries af­fected by dis­as­ters, con­flicts, and hu­man­i­tar­ian cri­sis, he af­firmed.

Mean­while, KRCS launched win­ter aid cam­paign for 5,000 most vul­ner­a­ble fam­i­lies in Kuwait.

The low-in­come fam­i­lies will get pro­vi­sions of food and win­ter cloth­ing, blan­kets as well as heaters.

In a state­ment to KUNA, vol­un­teer Jaa­far Al-Ja­mali from the lo­cal aid depart­ment said the dis­tri­bu­tion of win­ter clothes started on Mon­day and would con­tinue “un­til we reach our of tar­get of 5,000 fam­i­lies.” He said the clothes would be dis­trib­uted to needy fam­i­lies, wid­ows, di­vorcees, pa­tients and low-in­come in­di­vid­u­als.

Kuwait Avi­a­tion Fu­el­ing Com­pany KAFCO won first place award in hu­man re­sources 2017, the com­pany an­nounced Tues­day.

Di­rec­tor of ad­min­is­tra­tion, fi­nance and ser­vices at KAFCO Ab­dul­lah Al-Dei­jani said the an­nounce­ment came dur­ing HR con­fer­ence and expo held ear­lier in Dubai.

The prize came for the dis­tin­guished ef­forts of KAFCO in the fields of in­no­va­tion, train­ing and de­vel­op­ment.

Al-Dei­jani clar­i­fied in a press re­lease is­sued by the com­pany that HR Man­age­ment con­fer­ence and ex­hi­bi­tion held an­nu­ally in Dubai is considered one of the im­por­tant events in this re­spect in the Gulf re­gion.

He noted that KAFCO won also a sec­ond place award in cre­ativ­ity and de­vel­op­ment of di­rec­tors and CEOs.

The award was re­ceived dur­ing a special cer­e­mony af­ter nom­i­nat­ing KAFCO for its train­ing pro­gram for man­ag­ing and qual­i­fy­ing fu­ture lead­er­ship.

Num­bers of nom­i­nated com­pa­nies in all cri­te­ria was de­creased to four only by the Nom­i­na­tion Eval­u­at­ing Team which con­sists of 11 global and re­gional ex­perts in the field of hu­man re­sources, said Al-Dei­jani.

He added that the win­ning came as a re­sult of the out­stand­ing ef­forts by the higher ad­min­is­tra­tion, em­ploy­ees and HR team in KAFCO.

The achieve­ment is added to the list of awards that the com­pany has won on re­gional and global lev­els over the past years.
