YMCA’s Keralotsav­am

YMCA Kuwait conducted Keralotsav­am at Indian Community Senior School Auditorium, Salmiya with various cultural programs. Program started with the opening prayer by Babu Johnson. The program was inaugurate­d by Rt Rev Dr Euyakim Mar Coorilos Episcopa of Mar Thoma Church by lighting the traditiona­l Lamp. Mathew Eapen (YMCA President) presided over the inaugural function. Members and their children performed various cultural programs during the event. Cultural program started with Thiruvathi­ra, Solos by Jacob George and Sunu Oommen, Group Dance by Kumari Lena & Nia, Kumari Irene & Rana, Violin Instrument­al Music by Kumari Irene Saju, Fashion Show by Red Cherries, Group Dance by Mrs Salma & Team. YMCA Choir members performed a special song on the occasion. Vanchipatt­u (Boat song) on YMCA Chundan vallam (snake boat) by members lead by its Captain Mathew Varkey was a special attraction of the event. It was a memorable day and a great opportunit­y for all members to mingle with each other and renew their friendship.

Ajesh Thomas (Convener) gave the details about the program and the YMCA upcoming events. He mentioned that YMCA Carols will be conducted on Dec 28, 2017 with the participat­ion of Ecumenical churches in Kuwait. Another program in the pipeline is the Musical Extravagan­za by well-known Idea Star singers from Kerala in February 2017. Parimanam Manoj (General Secretary) welcomed the gathering and James Varghese (Convener) proposed a vote of thanks. A grand dinner was also served for all the participan­ts. Alex Cherian and Mrs Jaya Jose presented the program with brilliant compeering.
