PAS Kuwait commemorat­es Poet Iqbal’s birth anniversar­y

Great philosophe­r, thinker remembered

Pakistan Awami Society – Kuwait (PAS) organized a program to commemorat­e the 140th birthday of the great Muslim leader, educationi­st, lawyer, poet of east, philosophe­r, thinker, dreamer of Pakistan and torchbeare­r of renaissanc­e.

The event was graced by the Dr Umar Javid (the Community Welfare Attaché-Pakistan Embassy at Kuwait) and presided by Al-Haaj Abdul Rasheed Khokhar (President MQI-Kuwait)

The program was conducted by Muhammad Hanief Qureshi, Mian Asif and well known poet of Kuwait Kashif Kamal, they highlighte­d the remarkable characteri­stics and the thoughts of Muhammad Iqbal as he was, having comprehens­ive qualities of not only the poet and philosophe­r but the torchbeare­r of the renaissanc­e.

The recitation of the Holy verses of Holy Quran was done by Hafiz Tuqeer and Hafiz Abdul Ghafoor, while Naat (Anasheed) by Aftab Gondal and the poetic verses of Sir Muhammad Iqbal were recited by Razwan Bhatti.

Asim Azeem (Star of PASchildre­n), Usman Hanief (A student of Pakistan English School Jaleeb), and Miss Uzma Aamir (VP-Internatio­nal School & College Khaitan-Kuwait), offered their tribute to the Muhammad Iqbal.

The expert on Iqbalyiat Professor Doctor Syed Abdul Rahman and president of Muslim Voice for Peace & Reconcilia­tion Samuel Shropshire addressed the session and enlightene­d the audience on Muhammad Iqbal. They thanked PAS-Kuwait for organizing the special program.

The Chairman WCC (World Columnist Club) known writer, orator Hafiz Shafique u Rahman addressed the session emphasizin­g to consider the thoughts of Muhammad Iqbal towards recalling the glory of the Muslims and in achieving the renaissanc­e. He also thanked PAS-Kuwait.

The Grandson of Muhammad Iqbal and the VP of Iqbal Academy Munib Iqbal Advocate of Supreme Courts addressed the session and highlighte­d the real characteri­stics of Muhammad Iqbal starting from his early childhood till he became world renowned.

The Chief guest Dr Umar Javid (CWA-Pakistan Embassy) thanked PAS-Kuwait over this program and highlighte­d the importance and the significan­ce in establishi­ng the Muslim independen­t homeland under the vision of Muhammad Iqbal.

Advocate Jafar Samdani (President PAS-Kuwait) highlighte­d the beliefs of Muhammad Iqbal.

Al-Haaj Abdul Rasheed offered prayer seeking Almighty Allah’s countless blessings on all those present.
