‘Beyond The Dunes’ expo:

-

Dar Al Funoon announces the exhibition ‘Beyond The Dunes’ by Fahad Al Naymah.

Opening on Nov 19, at 7:00 pm, the exhibition continues through Dec 7, 2017.

Born in 1979, Fahad Al Naymah lives and works in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Growing up in the rural village of Darma, Al Naymah did not receive any formal training in art. A self-taught artist, he began with simple sketches of his environment which greatly influenced his earlier pieces, drawing on camels, goats, palm trees, Bedouins and other facets of the desert habitat. Gradually, he moved onto drawing human faces and launched his professional art career in 1988.

Beyond The Dunes celebrates that glorious creature of our desert home — the camel. With elegance and ingenuity, Al Naymah portrays the camel in an abstracted manner that reflects its significance in our desertic heritage. Gallery hours: Sunday to Thursday: 10:00 am-1:00 pm and 4:00 pm-8:00 pm. Saturday: By appointment Getting to the Gallery: Al-Watiah, Behbehani Compound, House No. 28.
