21st Grand Quran Memorizati­on contest registrati­on starts

KPC approves to restore the leave balance of oil sector workers

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 16: The Supreme Committee for Memorizati­on of the Holy Quran, which is affiliated to the Revival of Islamic Heritage Society, has announced the start of registrati­on for the 21st Grand Quran Memorizati­on and Recitation Competitio­n.

In a press statement, the committee said it allocated the phone number 97209970 through which the interested individual­s can register, indicating the. last day of registrati­on is on Nov 20, 2017.

The committee supervises more than 160 centers for memorizati­on and recitation of the Holy Quran in different parts of the country. These centers have more than 6,500 students and majority of the memorizati­on sessions continue throughout the year, a manifestat­ion of people’s interest in the memorizati­on of the Holy Quran.

The Executive Council of Oil Workers Confederat­ion announced that Kuwait Petroleum Company (KPC) has approved its request to restore the leave balance of oil sector workers, reports AlAnba daily.

In a press statement, the confederat­ion affirmed that action will be taken to restore the leave balance withdrawn from workers in the oil

sector for the years 2016 and 2017.

Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) disclosed that KD 1,940,150 has been generated in revenue since October ending through the subscripti­on of 6,873 companies to ‘Ashal’ (easy service), reports Al-Anba daily.

It added the authority is almost done with second phase of the project to offer various services ranging from hiring, cancellati­on of signatory, and transfer of employees among employers after connecting the system to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
