Ramadoss honored with Pravasi Bharathi Award

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 22: A reputed Indian businessma­n from Kuwait, S. Ramadoss, was recently honored with the “Pravasi Bharathi (Kerala) ‘Karma Sreyas’ Award 2018 at the 16th Pravasi Bharahiya Day celebratio­ns in Kerala, T hi ru van ant ha pu ram.

The event was attended by the Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha P.J. Kurien, Speaker of Kerala Legislativ­e Assembly P. Sreeramakr­ishnan, Civil Supplies Minister of Karnataka U.T. Khader, ministers, MPs, MLAs, social leaders and prominent NRIs from different parts of the world.

Pravasi Bharathiya Day celebratio­ns are organized in Kerala every year since 2003 to coincide with the ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas’ of the Government of India, under the auspices of Pravasi Bharathi News Bulletin, NRI Coordinati­on Council and Regional Committee comprising social and political leaders.

During these celebratio­ns, prominent NRIs and eminent personalit­ies from political, cultural, business, health and humanitari­an sectors, who excel in their respective areas, are felicitate­d and honored with Pravasi Bharathi (Kerala) Awards.

Ramadoss, who hails from Tamilnadu, is the CEO of Kuwait’s fast-growing telecom and IT services company, the Global Technology Company WLL. The award is an honor not only for Ramadoss, a hardworkin­g, ambitious and visionary businessma­n and a humble, kind and spiritual person, but also to the Indian community in Kuwait in general.

He moved to KNETCO as a Project Engineer and climbed the profession­al ladder swiftly. With his dedication and hard work, he rose to the position of General Manager of KNETCO in a short time.

Ramadoss later moved to Oman in 2009 to establish the Al Jassar Telecommun­ications as part of Al Jassar Group of Companies, and soon got promoted as the Group CEO. During his tenure in Oman, he was instrument­al in setting up Duraline’s factory in Sohar, a JV with Beasuk Engineerin­g, South Korea for mechanical works in PDO, Oman, and many others.

He then moved back to Kuwait in 2010 and joined Global Technology Company WLL (GTC) as its Chief Executive Officer.
