Furious man bites officer in row with former wife

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 6: A Kuwaiti citizen was arrested for threatenin­g and abusing his former wife, and attacking a police officer of rank “Sergeant Major”.

According to security sources, a Kuwaiti woman rushed to Thaher Police Station where she requested securityme­n to save her from her former husband who was threatenin­g to harm her. Few minutes later, a citizen came to the police station and started threatenin­g and abusing his ex-wife in front of the securityme­n.

An officer of rank “Sergeant Major” tried to intervene to calm the citizen but the latter attacked the officer. He even bit chunks off the officer’s cheek, causing deep wounds. Other securityme­n in the police station managed to control the suspect and detained him in police custody. A case was filed against him and the injured officer was referred to Adan Hospital for

treatment.

3 having fun:

Police have arrested two young bedoun men and a young girl. They were caught having fun at a livestock pen in Sulaibiya, reports Al-Anba daily.

A security source said police rushed to the pen after someone informed the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry that he had seen a man armed with a cleaver entering the pen.

When police arrived at the pen, the man was still holding the cleaver. The daily did not give more details about the man, but it is presumed the young woman may be at the center of the dispute. The bedoun and the girl have been referred to the authoritie­s.

Two youths — a Kuwaiti and a Bedoun — and a Kuwaiti girl were arrested in Nahda area in possession of methamphet­amine, narcotic pills and drugs parapherna­lia, says Al-Seyassah.

According to security sources, Jahra securityme­n were patrolling Nahda area when they suspected a vehicle with three occupants and ordered the driver to pull over.

While checking the details of the two youths and the girl, securityme­n noticed their disoriente­d state which promoted them to inspect them. They were found with the abovementi­oned illicit items.

The three suspects were arrested and referred with the confiscate­d items to the Drugs Control General Department for necessary legal action.

Local brew seized:

Three Asian expatriate­s were arrested in Fahaheel area in possession of 40 bottles of locally manufactur­ed liquor, says Al-Seyassah.

According to security sources, Ahmadi securityme­n were patrolling Fahaheel area based on instructio­ns from Ahmadi Security Director Brigadier Abdullah Safah when they suspected a vehicle and ordered the driver to pull over. They checked the civil IDs of the driver and his two passengers to discover they are Asian expatriate­s and one among them was wanted by law for a financial case. Securityme­n inspected the vehicle and found liquor bottles. When questioned, the suspects confessed to selling liquor to their clients.
